The first covered films, television, streaming and stage productions; the second laid out plans for parks, cruise ships and a digital Disney environment with Epic Games. Here is a catch-up on the major reveals, with the original dates and project targets kept in their 2024 context.
How D23 2024 was organized
The event took place in Anaheim from August 9 to 11, 2024. The Anaheim Convention Center hosted the daytime show floor, exhibits, panels and presentations. Three evening programs were held at the Honda Center:
- Friday, August 9, at 7 p.m.: Disney Entertainment Showcase.
- Saturday, August 10, at 7 p.m.: Disney Experiences Showcase.
- Sunday, August 11, at 5 p.m.: Disney Legends Ceremony.
The programs served different purposes: the first presented entertainment news and performances, the second focused on destinations and experiences, and the third honored people for their contributions to Disney. D23 also previewed D23 Day at Angel Stadium on August 4 and D23 Day at Disneyland Resort on August 8.
The daytime offering included an expanded show floor, brand pavilions, an exhibition called “A Great Big Beautiful Car Show,” photo spots, interactive displays, pin trading, concessions, and limited-edition shopping and collectibles. Sessions ran across five stages. These were event offerings; the preview does not establish that every activity was available to every badge holder.

What the public recap can—and cannot—tell you
D23’s reports document the principal announcements and showcase moments, not every frame of attendee-only footage. A trailer, concept-art reveal, project announcement and opening date are different kinds of news: seeing footage does not establish a release date, and a target year announced in 2024 does not establish that a project opened or remains on schedule. The dates and status language above are therefore presented as Disney stated them at the event, rather than as current operating information.
