These Cyber Monday streaming deals have ended. Cyber Monday 2025 was Monday, December 1, and the Disney+, HBO Max, and Apple TV promotions all expired that day. They are still worth documenting because several listings rounded the prices, blurred the plan restrictions, or presented expired offers as if they were still available.
What the three streaming deals actually offered

The exact figures matter. The Disney+ and Hulu offer was $4.99, not $6. HBO Max was $2.99, not exactly $3, and Apple TV was $5.99 for six months—not a year.
Disney+ and Hulu: $4.99 for a year
Disney’s main streaming promotion combined Disney+ Basic with Ads and Hulu With Ads for $4.99 per month for 12 months. Disney cited a regular combined price of $12.99 per month.
The offer ran from November 25 through December 1, 2025, and expired at 11:59 p.m. Pacific Time on December 1. Disney’s offer page recorded the cutoff as 2:59 a.m. Eastern Time on December 2.

This was not a Disney+-only deal, and ESPN was not included. The bundle was available to U.S. residents aged 18 or older who were new or eligible returning subscribers. Existing Disney+, Hulu, ESPN, or bundle subscribers did not qualify. Annual subscribers and accounts with a subscription pending cancellation were also excluded.
Anyone who claimed the offer would have needed to track the end of the 12-month period. Unless canceled, the subscription automatically renewed at $12.99 per month—or whatever the regular price was at that point.
HBO Max: $2.99 for the first year
HBO Max’s promotion was the cheapest headline price: $2.99 per month for the first 12 months. Warner Bros. Discovery described it as 70% off the then-current $10.99 monthly price.

The offer applied to Basic with Ads, not the Standard or Premium tiers. That distinction is important for anyone comparing services by picture quality, downloads, simultaneous streams, or advertising. The plan included advertising during shows and movies—HBO Max’s support documentation describes roughly six minutes of ads per hour. Live events may contain ads regardless of the subscription plan.
New and returning customers could find the offer through HBO Max’s website, Apple, Google Play, Roku, Samsung, Xumo, and selected partners. Amazon Fire TV had a narrower rule: the promotion was limited there to new HBO Max customers. Eligibility could also vary according to the company handling the billing.
Like the other promotions, HBO Max’s $2.99 rate was available only through December 1, 2025. A listing that still advertises it as an active deal in 2026 is out of date.

Apple TV: $5.99 for six months
Apple TV offered new and qualified returning subscribers a price of $5.99 per month for six months. The subscription’s regular price at the time was $12.99 per month.
The promotion ran from November 21 through December 1, 2025. It was intended for signups through the Apple TV website with direct Apple billing. Existing active subscribers were not eligible, and customers billed through a third-party provider were excluded.

After six months, the subscription reverted to the regular price unless the customer canceled before renewal. Describing this as a one-year deal changes the value calculation substantially: six months at $5.99 saved $42 compared with six months at $12.99, while a full year at the promotional rate would have produced a much larger discount that Apple did not offer.

Why billing arrangements mattered
Streaming subscriptions are often managed by the company that processes the payment rather than the service shown on the screen. A subscription purchased through Apple, Google Play, Roku, Amazon, or another partner may have different eligibility rules and a different cancellation route.
- Identify the billing company. Check the receipt, account page, or bank statement. The service’s own website may not control a subscription purchased through an app store or device platform.
- Check eligibility before switching. Existing subscribers, recently canceled accounts, annual plans, and accounts with pending cancellations were not automatically treated as new customers.
- Record the promotional end date. Disney+ and Hulu used a 12-month discount; HBO Max used 12 months; Apple TV used six months.
- Cancel through the correct provider. Direct subscriptions are generally managed on the streaming service’s account page. Apple-, Google Play-, Roku-, Amazon-, or other partner-billed subscriptions generally need to be canceled through that billing provider.
- Confirm the final billing date. Cancellation usually stops the next renewal rather than producing an immediate refund or removing access at once. The applicable provider’s terms determine the exact result.
What documentary viewers should have compared
The lowest monthly number was not automatically the best documentary deal. Disney+ and Hulu offered two ad-supported libraries in one subscription, making the bundle useful for households that wanted both services. HBO Max’s $2.99 price was attractive for a year, but the Basic with Ads tier came with advertising and was not equivalent to the higher plans. Apple TV’s deal lasted only six months, so its value depended on whether the subscriber wanted Apple’s original documentaries and other programming immediately enough to justify managing the later renewal.
A practical comparison was therefore:
- Best long discount window: Disney+ and Hulu or HBO Max, each discounted for 12 months.
- Lowest exact monthly price: HBO Max at $2.99, before the regular renewal rate.
- Broadest two-service package: Disney+ Basic with Ads plus Hulu With Ads.
- Shortest commitment at the promotional rate: Apple TV, with six months at $5.99.
None of these deals included every tier or every related service. Disney’s bundle did not include ESPN, HBO Max’s offer was not ad-free, and Apple’s promotion did not apply to third-party-billed customers.
