| U.S. plan | Previous monthly price | Announced monthly price | Increase from previous price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fan | $7.99 | $9.99 | $2, or 25% |
| Mega Fan | $11.99 | $13.99 | $2, about 16.7% |
| Ultimate Fan | $15.99 | $17.99 | $2, or 12.5% |
The percentage increases are arithmetic calculations from Crunchyroll’s announced old and new prices, not separate company statistics. The U.S. announcement says the new rates applied to new subscriptions from February 2. Existing monthly paid subscribers were to see the new price on the next billing date after March 4, 2026.
What does “raising prices again” mean?
The phrase needs a tier-specific qualification. Crunchyroll called the 2026 change the first U.S. Fan-tier increase since 2019. It said the previous adjustments for Mega Fan and Ultimate Fan were in May 2024. So “again” describes a new increase following earlier price changes; it does not mean every tier had remained unchanged since 2019.

What changed in France?
France is a documented international example, not a complete picture of every country affected. Crunchyroll’s French announcement listed these monthly changes:
| France plan | Previous monthly price | Announced monthly price | Existing-subscriber timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fan | €5.99 | €6.99 | Next billing date after March 4, 2026 |
| Mega Fan | €7.99 | €8.99 | Next billing date after March 4, 2026 |
These France prices and timing come from Crunchyroll’s French announcement. The available official announcements do not establish a complete country-by-country price list. Do not assume the U.S. or France amounts apply to your location.

Which Crunchyroll plan is worth it?
All three U.S. tiers include ad-free viewing and access to the library, but the higher tiers add capacity or extras. The feature comparison below reflects Crunchyroll’s U.S. plan information; benefits can vary by tier and region, so confirm the offer displayed for your location.
| Feature | Fan | Mega Fan | Ultimate Fan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Simultaneous streams | 1 | 4 | 6 |
| Offline viewing | Available | Available | Available |
| Download quality | Varies by tier; check local plan details | Varies by tier; check local plan details | Varies by tier; check local plan details |
| Game Vault | Not included | Included | Included |
| Manga access | Not included | Not included | Included |
| Swag bag | Not included | Not included | After 12 months, according to the U.S. announcement |
| Store benefits | May vary by region | May vary by region | May vary by region |
For one viewer who only watches online, Fan may cover the core use. Mega Fan’s four simultaneous streams and Game Vault matter if multiple people watch at once or you use its games. Ultimate Fan is chiefly differentiated by six streams, manga access and the stated after-12-month swag bag. Compare the perks you actually use with your own renewal amount rather than paying more for features you will not use.

Why did Crunchyroll say prices were increasing?
Crunchyroll presented the update as part of expanding its anime offerings. It pointed to additions or enhancements such as teen profiles and PIN protection, multiple profiles, skip-intro and credits controls, device compatibility, and offline viewing for Fan. The announcement does not give a cost breakdown or establish that any one feature caused the price increase. These are the company’s stated context, not an independently demonstrated explanation of the amount.

The monthly prices above are not the only possible amounts shown to a subscriber. Annual offers are time-limited and may have eligibility conditions, while tax depends on billing location and applicable rules.
Rank #4
- Annual Fan offer in the February 2 announcement: Crunchyroll advertised a limited U.S. offer of $66.99 for one year, paid as a single annual payment. The company described that as an effective $5.58 per month.
- Later U.S. pricing-page snapshot: A crawl of Crunchyroll’s official Premium page about two months before October 8, 2026 displayed a $69.99 first-year Fan offer for eligible users and a $99.99 Mega Fan offer. These are dated promotional snapshots, not permanent annual prices.
- Taxes: Crunchyroll Help says advertised prices do not include sales tax where applicable; tax is added based on billing address and regional rules. See Crunchyroll’s tax guidance.
Because offers and tax treatment can change the total, use the amount and renewal terms shown in your live account or purchase flow rather than treating a past promotion as your current rate.

How to check your renewal and change plans
- Open your Crunchyroll account and check the membership details for your current plan, renewal date and displayed price.
- Confirm where you are billed. If you subscribed through an app store or another billing provider, that provider’s account may control the plan change and charge details.
- Compare the renewal total, including any applicable tax, with the streams, offline viewing, Game Vault, manga and regional store benefits you use.
- If you want a different tier, follow Crunchyroll’s current membership-plan change guidance and check whether the change must be made through your billing provider.
