Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly set to join the Fast & Furious franchise: Vin Diesel said a role had been written for the football star, according to TheWrap’s report of Diesel’s Instagram post. The post did not reveal what Ronaldo would play, and the casting was not independently confirmed by Universal Pictures in the sources reviewed.
What did Vin Diesel say about Cristiano Ronaldo?
In the Instagram caption quoted by TheWrap, Diesel wrote: “Everyone asked, would he be in the ‘Fast’ mythology … I gotta tell you he is a real one. We wrote a role for him.” That supports the report that a part was written for Ronaldo; it does not establish that he has signed on, identify his character, or explain how the character would fit into the story.
The announcement is therefore a casting report, not a detailed character reveal. No role description or independent studio confirmation appears in the sources reviewed.
What is the next Fast & Furious film called?
The working title in the headline, Fast X: Part 2, is no longer the latest reported title. Cinema Express reported on January 31, 2026 that the film had been retitled Fast Forever and was scheduled to open on March 17, 2028. Those are press-reported details; an official studio announcement was not independently located in the sources reviewed.

Is Ronaldo’s casting officially confirmed?
TheWrap’s account of Diesel’s post is the direct basis for the Ronaldo report. The available cast records do not amount to a complete, definitive studio announcement: Production List’s entry is a limited production-directory snapshot last updated April 28, 2026, while Production Weekly’s cast entry comes from its December 5, 2024 issue. Neither should be treated as confirmation of the newer report.
Accordingly, the careful formulation is that Ronaldo is reportedly set for a role after Diesel said one had been written for him. The role itself—and whether Universal will confirm the casting—remains unspecified in the sources reviewed.
