The listing required applicants to be UK residents aged 10–12, but its July 17, 2026 deadline has passed and Cast It Talent now says submissions are closed. It does not name a selected actor, so the closure is not confirmation that Ginny has been cast.
What is the Harry Potter casting update?
The Cast It Talent listing identifies HBO as the studio and the project as Harry Potter Series 2. It sought children for the role of Ginny Weasley, with a UK production location and dates listed as 2026–2027. The deadline was July 17, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. BST; the page now says it is not accepting submissions. See the casting listing.
The listing does not announce who was selected. A closed application window means only that submissions are no longer being accepted through that call; it should not be read as a casting announcement.
Who could audition for Ginny?
The call sought performers aged 10–12 who were UK residents. Those criteria describe this specific, now-closed Series 2 notice, not a general eligibility rule for other roles or future casting calls.

What does “committed to inclusive, diverse casting” mean?
The Cast It Talent notice says: “We are committed to inclusive, diverse casting.” It asks that qualified performers be submitted without regard to ethnicity, sex, disability, race, sexual orientation, gender identity, or another basis protected by law, unless otherwise indicated. That is the notice’s stated casting approach; it does not disclose who was cast or establish that every role has identical requirements. Read the casting notice and its terms.
The same notice says Cast It is the only way to apply and warns that other companies or websites promoting or charging actors to submit self-tapes or video auditions are not approved by the casting director or Cast It Systems. Since the deadline has passed, prospective applicants should not pay a third party or send materials through an unofficial site in response to this call.

Who is playing Harry, Hermione, and Ron?
The first-season trio has been announced: Dominic McLaughlin plays Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton plays Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout plays Ron Weasley. They are the actors in the new television series, not the film performers Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint.
Showrunner and executive producer Francesca Gardiner and director and executive producer Mark Mylod credited casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann with an “extraordinary search.” They also thanked “all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned.” That is an approximate description from the announcement, not a precise audition count.
