Comcast’s New TV Plans Have No Contracts and “Hidden Fees”? Here’s How They Work

Comcast’s five new Xfinity TV plans cost $65–$135 per month, include major TV fees and one X1 4K box, and require no contract. Here’s what “no hidden fees” does—and does not—mean, plus how the plans compare with NOW TV and StreamSaver.

Comcast’s new TV plans have no contracts and fewer major television line-item fees: the five national Xfinity plans launched December 10, 2025, cost $65–$135 per month, include Broadcast TV and Regional Sports Network fees in the advertised package, and include one X1 4K box. Taxes, add-ons, extra equipment, and promotional changes can still affect the final bill.

The phrase “hidden fees” needs that qualification. Comcast has simplified the recurring television price, but the new plans do not eliminate every charge allowed under Xfinity’s residential agreement. The plan lineup, included equipment, contract terms, NOW TV alternative, and bill-checking steps matter more than the headline slogan.

Key takeaways

  • Comcast launched five national Xfinity TV plans on December 10, 2025: TV Core, Sports & News TV, World Soccer Ticket, TV Plus, and TV Premium.
  • Advertised prices range from $65 to $135 per month before applicable taxes, optional services, and account-specific charges.
  • Comcast says the plans include major television fees such as Broadcast TV and Regional Sports Network fees, plus one X1 4K TV box and voice remote.
  • “No contracts” means no required minimum term, not a permanent price lock; promotional pricing can still expire or change.
  • NOW TV is a separate $20-per-month streaming product that requires qualifying Xfinity Internet and provides more than 270 live channels with 20 hours of cloud DVR.

What are Comcast’s five new Xfinity TV plans?

Comcast’s five new national Xfinity TV plans are TV Core, Sports & News TV, World Soccer Ticket, TV Plus, and TV Premium. Comcast announced the structure on December 10, 2025, presenting each plan as one advertised monthly television price rather than a base package followed by prominent Broadcast TV and Regional Sports Network line items. Comcast’s national-plan announcement establishes the national lineup, but an address-specific quote remains necessary for local channels, regional sports availability, eligibility, discounts, and the final bill.

Plan Advertised monthly price Published positioning Best fit for
TV Core $65 More than 10 channels Viewers who mainly want local-network programming
Sports & News TV $90 More than 50 channels Viewers focused on national news and sports
World Soccer Ticket $95 English- and Spanish-language soccer programming Soccer-focused households
TV Plus $105 More than 125 channels Households seeking a broader general-entertainment lineup
TV Premium $135 More than 185 channels Households seeking the broadest of the five national tiers

According to Comcast/Xfinity (2025), TV Core has more than 10 channels, Sports & News TV has more than 50, TV Plus has more than 125, and TV Premium has more than 185. Channel counts do not by themselves establish that a plan includes a particular local station, regional sports network, premium channel, or service in every market.

Comcast says combining an Xfinity video package with Xfinity Internet can save $10 per month. The advertised prices are therefore starting points for comparison, not guaranteed final totals. Internet service, taxes, optional premium channels, pay-per-view, installation, service calls, equipment beyond the included box, and account-specific pricing can change what a household pays.

Does Comcast really have no hidden fees now?

Comcast’s “no hidden fees” message means the new national plans are designed to include major recurring television line items—especially the Broadcast TV Fee and Regional Sports Network Fee—in the advertised package price. Comcast also says the plans include one X1 4K TV box and voice remote, removing the standard rental charge for that included box. The phrase does not mean that every possible charge disappears.

The most accurate interpretation is that Comcast is replacing prominent television-package surcharges with simpler advertised pricing. The Xfinity Residential Services Agreement still makes customers responsible for applicable taxes and governmental or quasi-governmental fees, as well as charges that can arise from installation, service calls, third-party services, pay-per-view, premium add-ons, ancillary services, and additional or specialized equipment.

Charge or condition What the new plan message means What to verify before ordering
Broadcast TV Fee Intended to be included in the advertised national-plan price Confirm that the order summary does not add a separate recurring television fee
Regional Sports Network Fee Intended to be included rather than shown as a separate major TV line item Confirm regional sports availability and the channels included at the service address
Included X1 equipment One X1 4K TV box and voice remote are included with the new national plans Check charges for extra boxes, specialty equipment, installation, or service calls
Taxes and government-related charges Not eliminated by the advertised package price Review the estimated total, not only the plan’s headline price
Optional services Premium channels, pay-per-view, third-party services, and other add-ons can cost extra Remove unwanted add-ons and confirm recurring versus one-time charges

Do the new Xfinity plans really have no contracts?

Yes, Comcast says the five new national plans require no contracts or commitments, meaning customers do not have to accept a minimum service term simply to purchase one of the plans. No contract does not mean the monthly price is guaranteed forever.

A promotional rate can end, after which standard pricing may apply. The service agreement also allows pricing and other terms to change. Before accepting an offer, compare the quoted recurring rate, promotional period, post-promotion price, Internet requirement, equipment charges, and any minimum-term language in the order summary. The December 2025 launch announcement supports the no-contract claim; the service agreement controls the broader billing relationship.

Which Xfinity plan should you choose?

The right plan depends more on the channels a household actually watches than on the total channel count. TV Core is the lowest advertised tier and is aimed mainly at local-network programming. Sports & News TV is the more direct choice for national news and sports. World Soccer Ticket is a specialized soccer option with English- and Spanish-language programming. TV Plus and TV Premium provide progressively larger general lineups, but a larger count does not guarantee that a particular desired channel is included in a particular location.

  • Choose TV Core if local-network programming is the main requirement and a limited channel lineup is acceptable.
  • Choose Sports & News TV if national news and sports matter more than a broad entertainment lineup.
  • Choose World Soccer Ticket if English- and Spanish-language soccer programming is the central reason for subscribing.
  • Choose TV Plus if more than 125 channels provides the desired balance between breadth and price.
  • Choose TV Premium only after checking that the additional channels justify the $135 advertised price for the household.

What equipment and viewing features are included?

The five new national plans include one X1 4K TV box and voice remote. Comcast also promotes the X1 television interface, Multiview, Enhanced 4K, StreamStore, Fan View, and the Xfinity Stream app on supported third-party platforms such as Apple TV, Fire TV, iOS, Android, Roku, and Xumo TV. Supported devices and feature availability can vary, so customers should confirm compatibility for the device they intend to use.

According to Comcast’s 2025 launch announcement, the most popular plans include 300 hours of DVR storage. The announcement does not make that figure a universal promise for every plan or every account, so the order summary should identify the DVR capacity attached to the selected tier.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

An included X1 box is not unlimited equipment. Additional boxes or specialized equipment may create separate charges. A household comparing Xfinity with an app-based service should compare the full equipment arrangement, not assume that every television receives an included box.

What is the difference between the new Xfinity plans and NOW TV?

NOW TV is a separate streaming product, not another name for TV Core or TV Plus. Current Xfinity support information lists NOW TV at $20 per month with no annual contract, no Broadcast TV Fee, and no Regional Sports Network Fee. NOW TV requires qualifying Xfinity Internet, does not require a traditional TV box, and is watched through the Xfinity Stream app on supported devices. Xfinity’s NOW TV FAQs describe the eligibility and service conditions.

Included services Plan-dependent television programming and X1 features Peacock Premium and on-demand programming
Device caveat Check supported devices and local service availability Currently unavailable on LG TVs according to Xfinity’s support page

According to Xfinity’s 2026 NOW TV overview, NOW TV includes more than 270 live channels and 20 hours of cloud DVR. The larger channel number does not make NOW TV a direct replacement for every national Xfinity tier: the channel mix, DVR capacity, equipment, X1 experience, Internet eligibility, and device support are different.

NOW TV may make sense for an Xfinity Internet customer who wants a lower-cost, app-based live-TV option and does not need a traditional X1 setup or the full lineup of a national Xfinity TV plan. A customer who wants the X1 interface, the included X1 box, a particular local station, a regional sports network, or more DVR storage should compare those requirements directly before switching.

What is NOW TV Latino?

NOW TV Latino is a separate Spanish-language prepaid option priced at $15 per month. Xfinity says NOW TV Latino requires Xfinity Internet, has no annual contract or additional service fees, and includes ViX Premium with ads and Peacock Premium. The product is aimed at viewers seeking Spanish-language entertainment, novelas, news, and soccer; it is not one of the five new national Xfinity TV plans. Xfinity’s NOW TV Latino FAQs contain the current product conditions.

Can StreamSaver replace a traditional TV plan?

StreamSaver is a streaming bundle rather than a replacement for the live-channel lineup of the five national Xfinity plans. Comcast announced StreamSaver at $15 per month for eligible Xfinity Internet and TV customers, combining Peacock Premium, Netflix Standard with ads, and Apple TV+. Comcast also says NOW TV can be combined with StreamSaver for $30 per month. Streaming bundle prices and included app tiers can change, so eligibility and current terms should be checked before purchase. Comcast’s StreamSaver announcement describes the bundle and its launch terms.

StreamSaver is useful for a household comparing a traditional pay-TV package with a mix of live channels and on-demand apps. It does not, by itself, establish access to the local stations, regional sports, news networks, soccer programming, X1 features, or DVR arrangement offered by a selected Xfinity TV plan.

How should you check the real Xfinity bill before switching?

The only reliable final price is the address-specific order summary, not the national advertised price. Use this checklist before accepting a plan or replacing an existing service:

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.
  1. Enter the exact service address. Confirm local stations, regional sports availability, plan eligibility, and whether the quoted lineup differs from the national description.
  2. Identify the Internet requirement. Determine whether the offer requires Xfinity Internet, whether Internet is already included in a bundle, and what the combined recurring price will be.
  3. Match the channel lineup to actual viewing. Check the specific news networks, sports networks, local stations, soccer programming, and specialty channels the household needs.
  4. Confirm the equipment. Verify that one X1 4K box and voice remote are included, then check the price of every additional box, device, installation item, or service visit.
  5. Check DVR storage. Confirm whether the account receives the advertised 300-hour capacity or a different amount, and compare it with NOW TV’s 20-hour cloud DVR if considering the streaming option.
  6. Separate recurring and one-time charges. Look for taxes, government-related fees, installation, service calls, pay-per-view, premium add-ons, third-party services, and ancillary charges.
  7. Check the discount period. Record the promotional monthly price, the date it ends, the standard price afterward, and any Internet discount that depends on keeping another service.
  8. Read cancellation and change terms. No contract removes a required minimum term, but the service agreement and order summary still determine billing, equipment returns, promotional discounts, and other account obligations.

Are Comcast’s new plans cheaper for every household?

No. Comcast’s new structure may make the television portion of a bill easier to understand, but the available evidence does not establish a universal saving for every household. A genuine comparison must calculate the customer’s current bill against the new plan, Internet service, taxes, equipment, desired channels, DVR needs, optional add-ons, and post-promotion price.

Comcast’s claim that the new plans include major television fees is a billing-structure change, not proof that every customer will pay less. The practical benefit is greater price clarity at the package level. The practical limitation is that taxes, account-specific terms, optional services, and unrelated charges can still affect the final amount.

Bottom line: what does “no contracts and hidden fees” actually mean?

Comcast’s new Xfinity TV plans offer five national tiers priced from $65 to $135 per month, no required contract or commitment, and an included X1 4K box and voice remote. Comcast intends the advertised prices to include major recurring television fees such as Broadcast TV and Regional Sports Network fees.

“Hidden fees” is marketing shorthand, not a promise of a fee-free bill. Taxes, government-related charges, optional services, pay-per-view, installation, service calls, extra equipment, promotional-rate changes, and account-specific conditions can remain. Compare the address-specific order summary and service agreement before deciding whether TV Core, Sports & News TV, World Soccer Ticket, TV Plus, TV Premium, NOW TV, or a streaming bundle fits the household.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I cancel Comcast’s new TV plans anytime?

Comcast’s new Xfinity TV plans have no required contracts or commitments, but no contract does not mean a permanent price lock. Promotional pricing may expire, standard pricing may apply afterward, and the service agreement allows other pricing changes.

Did Comcast get rid of all hidden fees?

No. The advertised Xfinity plan price is intended to include major television line items such as the Broadcast TV Fee and Regional Sports Network Fee, but applicable taxes, government-related charges, optional services, pay-per-view, installation, service calls, and extra equipment can still appear on the bill.

What is the difference between NOW TV and the new Xfinity TV plans?

NOW TV is a separate $20-per-month streaming product that requires qualifying Xfinity Internet, uses the Xfinity Stream app, does not require a traditional TV box, and includes more than 270 live channels, Peacock Premium, and 20 hours of cloud DVR. NOW TV is not the same product as TV Core or TV Plus.

Does Comcast include the cable box with the new plans?

Yes. The five national Xfinity plans include one X1 4K TV box and voice remote. Additional boxes or specialized equipment may carry separate charges, so the order summary should be checked before service is accepted.

The Bottom Line

Comcast’s new national Xfinity plans simplify the television portion of the bill and remove the required contract, but they do not guarantee a permanently fixed or completely fee-free total. Check the local lineup, Internet bundle, equipment, taxes, add-ons, promotional expiration date, and cancellation terms in the address-specific order summary.
