Public updates since then describe advocacy and other work, but they do not establish the women’s exact current circumstances. The most recent located update is a May 2026 report about DeJesus and the missing-persons organization she co-founded.
What happened to the Cleveland kidnapping survivors?
The three women were abducted separately between 2002 and 2004. The National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) reported in 2023 that Amanda Berry was 16, Gina DeJesus was 14 and Michelle Knight was 20 when they were taken. Berry escaped on May 6, 2013; her escape led to the rescue of DeJesus, Knight and Berry’s daughter, Jocelyn. NCMEC’s tenth-anniversary account recounts the rescue and the survivors’ later public work.
Where are the survivors now, according to public reports?
These updates are snapshots from specific dates, not confirmation of where the women live or what they are doing today. The sources describe public advocacy and work; they do not establish the survivors’ private circumstances.
Gina DeJesus
The latest located survivor-specific update is a May 6, 2026 report from Cleveland 19 about DeJesus and Cleveland Missing, the organization she co-founded with her cousin Sylvia Colon. The report says the group helps families searching for loved ones navigate law enforcement, create flyers and share information on social media. Colon described DeJesus as “living her life, living her best life actually.” That brief comment is not evidence about DeJesus’s private or clinical wellbeing. Read the Cleveland 19 report.

NCMEC used the name Cleveland Center for Missing, Abducted and Exploited Children and Adults for the organization in its 2023 feature; Cleveland 19 called it Cleveland Missing in 2026. The available accounts establish the organization’s mission and DeJesus’s association with it, but not whether the two names reflect a formal rename.
Amanda Berry
NCMEC reported in May 2023 that Berry hosted a missing-persons segment for Fox 8 News, helping bring attention to missing children and adults. That is a dated description, not confirmation of her current employment. In the same feature, Berry reflected on the decade after the rescue: “We’re doing great,” she said, adding, “We’ve lived a good life in 10 years. We have good days, bad days. But we’ve really been blessed.” NCMEC published the interview on May 4, 2023.
