Citadel: Honey Bunny is an Indian-set spy thriller in the wider Citadel franchise, not a documentary. Set in the 1990s according to a November 2024 guide, it follows stuntman Bunny as he recruits struggling actress Honey for a dangerous mission. The series premiered November 7, 2024, and was reported as streaming on Prime Video; availability can vary by region and change over time.
What is Citadel: Honey Bunny about?
The reported premise pairs Bunny, a stuntman, with Honey, an aspiring actress struggling to find work. Bunny recruits her into a dangerous mission, drawing her into the world of espionage. Samantha Ruth Prabhu plays Honey. A November 6, 2024 CBR preview carried by IMDb News identifies Sita R. Menon and the directing duo Raj & DK among the interview participants and creative team, but does not preserve the full interview answer about what audiences should expect.
That premise comes from entertainment previews rather than an official franchise reference guide. It is best understood as the series’ reported setup, not as a complete account of its plot or established canon.
Where and when is the series set?
Citadel: Honey Bunny moves the franchise’s espionage story to India. ComingSoon’s November 7, 2024 guide describes the action as taking place in the 1990s and calls the series a prequel and spin-off to the original American Citadel. The CBR preview likewise characterizes it as a 1990s spy thriller and a prequel.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
The sources support that broad period and relationship to the earlier series, but do not establish a detailed episode-by-episode chronology. The 1990s setting is therefore useful context, not a basis for inferring precise continuity links.
How does it connect to the larger Citadel universe?
The series is presented as a separate national chapter in a franchise built around agents and stories across countries. ComingSoon attributes the “global effort” framing to director Raj Nidimoru in a discussion of a multiverse of agents. The point is the franchise’s international scope: Honey Bunny tells an India-based story while belonging to the same wider world as the original American series.

ComingSoon also describes a narrative relationship involving Honey, Bunny, and Nadia, a character associated with the original series. The available coverage does not lay out the mechanics of that connection, so viewers should not treat the label “prequel” as proof that every character or event aligns in a particular way.
