Chrissy Metz’s reported 100-pound loss refers to coverage published in 2025, when she described strength training, a supportive Nashville-based trainer and broader health goals. A later Daily Beast report dated August 10, 2026 says she was using a GLP-1 medication and that Ro reported a 63-pound loss since treatment began. Those are points on a dated, evolving account—not evidence that one method explains every pound.
What the 100-pound claim means
Life & Style reported on April 10, 2025 that Metz had reached a 100-pound weight-loss milestone. The account summarized an April 2025 Daily Mail interview in which Metz emphasized enjoyable lifting and strength work with a personal trainer. Us Weekly repeated the 100-pound figure on August 15, 2025, alongside quotations from her People interviews.
The figure is therefore a media-reported milestone tied to Metz’s own comments. The available coverage does not provide a clinical record, a verified starting weight, a precise date on which the loss reached 100 pounds, or a medically validated breakdown of how much came from exercise, food, medication or other factors.
Her 2025 approach: lifting, support and health
Strength training instead of forcing cardio
Metz said, “I have always enjoyed strength training. I’ve always enjoyed lifting weights, like I don’t want to run unless I’m being chased.” Her stated preference was to make movement something she could sustain rather than prescribe a workout she disliked.

A trainer who supported rather than shamed her
She described working with a Nashville-based personal trainer and said she wanted “lovingly supported” guidance rather than being yelled at. Her comments present the trainer relationship as a practical source of accountability and comfort, not a celebrity-branded program with published routines.
Strength, flexibility and aging
Metz told the Daily Mail that she was motivated by concerns about aging, osteoporosis and arthritis, as well as a desire to remain strong and flexible. That framing matters: in her 2025 account, the goal was health and physical capability, not simply reaching a target number.

Did Chrissy Metz use Ozempic or another weight-loss drug?
The answer depends on the date. In the 2025 interview coverage, Metz said she was not using weight-loss drugs, while discussing her strength-training and lifestyle approach. The later Daily Beast report, published August 10, 2026, says she was using a GLP-1 medication and that Ro said she had lost 63 pounds since beginning treatment.
The report does not establish that the medication was Ozempic specifically. “GLP-1” describes a class of prescription treatments; a brand, dose, eligibility decision and prescribing details are not supplied here. The 2026 account should be read as a later update, not as proof that the 2025 comments were false.

What changed in the 2026 account?
The Daily Beast’s later report describes goals including more energy, reduced inflammation, overall health and building muscle with a trainer. Metz was quoted saying that her bank account, dress size and the number on the scale were not her identity. This shifts the public emphasis from a headline milestone to how she feels and functions.
| Period | Reported intervention or milestone | What the evidence supports |
|---|---|---|
| April–August 2025 | 100-pound loss reported; lifting, strength training and trainer support emphasized | Metz’s interview comments and entertainment-media summaries; no complete diet, workout plan or clinical measurement |
| August 10, 2026 | GLP-1 medication reported; Ro said 63 pounds had been lost since treatment began | A time-sensitive Daily Beast report; medication brand, dose and full treatment history are not stated |
Did she have gastric bypass surgery?
In the 2025 interview context, Metz said weight-loss medication and surgery were personal decisions and said she would “never” undergo a weight-loss procedure. That is her stated position in that coverage; it is not a medical recommendation for anyone else, and the sources here do not document a surgical history beyond her comment.

How Metz talks about body size and emotional health
Metz told People, as quoted by Us Weekly in August 2025, “I know skinniness doesn’t equal happiness.” She also said she wanted to be “health-positive,” rather than become the face of body positivity, and discussed food issues as partly psychological. These remarks distinguish health goals from the assumption that a smaller body automatically produces well-being.

What readers should not copy from celebrity coverage
- No complete meal plan, calorie target, exercise schedule or strength-training progression is published in the cited coverage.
- No dosage, prescribing criteria, side-effect discussion or medical eligibility rule is provided for the later GLP-1 report.
- A reported celebrity outcome is not a universal prediction for another person; medication and exercise decisions require qualified clinical advice.
- The 100-pound and 63-pound figures belong to different dated accounts and should not be added together.
The clearest timeline
- 2025: Metz’s public account centered on lifting weights, strength, flexibility, a supportive trainer and health rather than a scale-only goal; outlets reported a 100-pound milestone.
- August 2026: A later report said she had begun a GLP-1 medication and that Ro attributed a 63-pound loss to treatment since starting it.
- Across both accounts: Metz rejected the idea that body size defines identity or happiness, while the specific details of her medical care and diet remain unreported.
