In a 1 April 2021 7NEWS interview, Otten spoke about communication and respect in sexual relationships. She said, “We need to move away from this movie-oriented point of view that sex is about penetration and orgasm,” and described working on “communication and respectful communication in the bedroom and I guess empathy for each other.” These are older, general professional comments—not statements from the 2024 podcast anecdote.
