In a profile published on 5 June 2025, PerthNow reported that a backstage encounter with DJs wearing grillz helped spark Shah’s interest. He recalled that they told him, “They said you have to go to America to get them,” and said he began experimenting with moulds and working with technicians both locally and overseas.
Shah later summed up the beginning this way: “I was like ‘I’m a dentist’ and then my friends were like ‘you should get into grillz’ and that was 10 years ago.” The business’s stated 2015 start date gives that recollection a time frame; the quote is Shah’s account, not an independently verified timeline. What are grillz, and how are they different from implants?
Grillz are custom dental jewellery worn over teeth; they are not the same thing as ordinary clinical restorations. PerthNow’s profile also mentions temporary silver teeth and permanent diamond implants. Those are distinct categories: one is described as temporary and removable, while an implant is permanent. A jewellery piece and a permanent dental procedure should not be treated as interchangeable options.

How does Shah connect dentistry, hip-hop and self-expression?
