Announced in 2025 for the 40th anniversary of the film’s 1985 release, it pairs the familiar calculator-watch format with franchise-specific styling.
Which Casio watch is the Back to the Future anniversary model?
The model is the Casio Vintage CA-500WEBF-1A. Casio Europe identifies its regional version as CA-500WEBF-1AER, so check the full model code on a local listing rather than assuming every regional suffix is interchangeable. Casio announced the collaboration on October 14, 2025, marking 40 years since Back to the Future was released in 1985. Casio’s international product page and Casio Europe’s announcement document the model and anniversary.
What makes the watch a Back to the Future collaboration?
Casio says the watch face incorporates motifs from the DeLorean time machine. The collaboration uses the CA-500 format, which Casio connects with Marty McFly’s calculator watch in the film. The result is a recognizable calculator watch with franchise-specific design, rather than a new watch category.
In its October 14, 2025 announcement, Casio described the model this way: “The new anniversary model CA-500WEBF-1AER takes its inspiration from the design of the DeLorean, the legendary time machine from the film.” This is wording from the company’s release, not a comment attributed to an individual spokesperson.

What does the CA-500 calculator watch do?
Casio describes the CA-500 as able to perform the four basic arithmetic operations and calculations of up to eight digits. Those are the functions Casio highlights in its product history; they are not results from an independent test of the anniversary model.
How long does its battery last?
Casio lists an approximate battery life of five years from a CR2016 battery on the international product page. That is the manufacturer’s published estimate, not a measured result for this article. See the CA-500WEBF-1A specifications for the stated battery detail.
