Caroline Kennedy and her husband, Edwin Schlossberg, were photographed together at the SNL50: The Red Carpet event on Sunday, February 16, 2025. That was also the date of NBC’s SNL50: The Anniversary Special. The available event coverage confirms their red-carpet attendance, not an appearance in the televised program.

How the event relates to the anniversary special
NBCUniversal dates SNL50: The Anniversary Special to February 16, 2025. The red carpet and the televised special were connected parts of the anniversary occasion, but red-carpet attendance alone is not evidence that Kennedy or Schlossberg appeared on air, performed in a sketch, or spoke with reporters. NBCUniversal’s anniversary-season overview and Peacock’s guest-list preview provide programming context; neither establishes an on-air role for Kennedy based on the red-carpet photo.
How large was the broadcast audience?
The Associated Press reported that the special reached nearly 15 million viewers, including Peacock live-streaming figures. AP also reported NBC’s description of it as the network’s most-watched prime-time entertainment telecast in five years. Those figures describe the special’s audience, not Kennedy’s participation. AP’s preview characterized the program as a three-hour live telecast.

The headline describes Kennedy’s appearance as rare, but the available event sources do not provide a count or comparison of her public appearances. They also do not document why Kennedy and Schlossberg attended. No statement from either of them about the event is established here.
