Cardi B’s “Enough (Miami)” is built around refusal: no explanations, no softening, and no interest in making herself smaller for anyone else. Released by Atlantic Records on March 15, 2024, the single marked another forceful step toward the follow-up to her 2018 debut album, Invasion of Privacy.

The track arrived shortly after “Like What (Freestyle)”, which Cardi released on March 1. Where that earlier release helped restart the campaign, “Enough (Miami)” presented the sharper statement—an aggressive, boast-heavy rap performance supported by a stark, fashion-driven video.

A confrontational return

On “Enough (Miami)”, Cardi B addresses rivals and “opps” without identifying one confirmed target. The writing is less interested in telling a detailed story than in establishing dominance. She questions the loyalty and credibility of people around her, then turns the song back toward her own career position and public stature.

That directness is central to the single’s appeal. Cardi’s delivery moves between clipped threats, taunts, and declarations of success, giving the track the atmosphere of a public challenge. The title is not presented as a verified statement about the city of Miami itself; it works more naturally as part of the song’s larger attitude of having reached a limit with critics and competitors.

The sound behind the performance

Producers OG Parker and Romano give the track a hard, uncluttered rap foundation that leaves room for Cardi’s voice to dominate. The production supports the song’s confrontational rhythm rather than turning it into a heavily melodic pop crossover. That choice keeps the focus on cadence, punchlines, and the force of the performance.

It is a compact single with a clear purpose: establish Cardi as the loudest presence in the room. The track does not depend on a guest verse or a complicated narrative. Its momentum comes from repetition, attitude, and the contrast between a controlled beat and an intentionally unapologetic vocal performance.

A deliberately stark music video

The official video, released on the same day as the single, was directed by Patience Harding and produced by Saboteur Media. Rather than building a conventional plot, it places Cardi on a largely blank soundstage and uses styling, movement, lighting, and framing to create its visual impact.

Cardi appears in several provocative, high-fashion looks, turning the empty setting into a kind of performance arena. Billboard also noted the influence of Missy Elliott’s videos in the visual approach. That comparison is useful: the video treats the rapper’s body, clothes, and choreography as visual punctuation, matching the song’s larger message of control and self-possession.

The stark backdrop also keeps attention on Cardi. There are no elaborate story elements to distract from the central performance, and each costume change functions as another expression of the single’s confidence.

In the United Kingdom, the song reached No. 85 on the Official UK Singles Chart and spent one week in the chart’s top 100. Cardi also issued a separate Bronx Drill Mix on March 20, followed that day by an official lyric video. Those are distinct releases from the original recording and its official music video.

The later copyright lawsuit

The song became the subject of a legal dispute in July 2024, when Texas rappers Sten Joddi and Kemika1956 sued Cardi B and Atlantic-related parties. They alleged that “Enough (Miami)” copied elements of their 2021 song “Greasy Frybread” and sought $50 million.

The lawsuit reported an allegation, not a judicial finding that infringement occurred. The distinction matters: filing a copyright claim does not establish that a song was plagiarized, and the case should not be treated as proof of wrongdoing without a court determination.

Why the single matters

As a piece of Cardi B’s post-Invasion of Privacy rollout, “Enough (Miami)” is less about reinvention than reaffirmation. It returns to the qualities that made her breakout work so visible: blunt language, personality-first delivery, and a willingness to turn conflict into performance.

The song and video operate as a matched pair. The recording gives Cardi a platform to dismiss rivals and underline her success; the video strips away narrative clutter so that her presence becomes the entire spectacle. That combination explains the single’s confident tone. Cardi is not asking to be taken seriously—she is performing as though the argument has already been settled.

Who produced “Enough (Miami)”?

The track is credited to OG Parker and Romano as producers.

Is “Enough (Miami)” officially about the city of Miami?

Available reporting does not confirm that the song is specifically about Miami. Its lyrics are generally described as addressing rivals and “opps,” so a more specific interpretation should be treated as speculation.

What is the difference between the original song and the Bronx Drill Mix?

The Bronx Drill Mix is a separate release issued on March 20, 2024. It should not be confused with the original March 15 single, its official music video, or the lyric video.

The Bottom Line

“Enough (Miami)” is Cardi B in direct, self-assured mode: a tightly focused rap single about status, rivalry, and refusing to back down. Its No. 9 debut on the Billboard Hot 100 confirmed the reach of the release, while Patience Harding’s stripped-back video made the performance itself the main event. A later copyright lawsuit added controversy, but its claims remain allegations rather than a proven finding.
