Crave can be used by people in the same household, subject to the plan’s limits, but don’t assume you can split one subscription with someone at another address. Crave’s terms prohibit sharing an account or user rights. A plan’s allowance for multiple simultaneous streams describes how many streams can run at once—not how many households are authorized to use the account.
What “sharing Crave” can mean
Four different things are easy to conflate:
- Household use: People living together using one subscription on supported devices.
- Simultaneous streams: How many programs can play at the same time under a plan.
- Devices: Devices associated with or used to access an account. A device allowance, where applicable, is not the same as a stream allowance.
- Sharing across homes: Giving login details to someone who lives at a different address.
Separate profiles, if offered in the account interface, can keep household members’ recommendations and viewing histories apart. Profiles do not create separate subscriptions or grant permission to share an account outside the household.
Can people in the same home use one Crave account?
That is the practical household use case: household members can watch on supported devices, provided their subscription and provider terms allow it and they stay within the plan’s simultaneous-stream limit. Check the exact plan attached to your account; features may vary depending on whether you subscribe directly or through a provider.
For example, Virgin Plus describes Crave Standard With Ads as allowing two simultaneous streams at up to 1080p, and Crave Premium as supporting up to four streams. These are partner-published plan descriptions, not a universal specification for every way of subscribing to Crave. Virgin Plus’s Crave FAQ and Bell’s streaming-bundle page describe offers that may have their own eligibility and feature conditions.

A four-stream allowance can help several people in one home watch at once. It does not, by itself, authorize four unrelated households to share one account.
Can you share Crave with someone at another address?
Crave’s Terms of Service say subscribers may not share an account or user rights. On that basis, don’t treat ordinary password-sharing with a friend or family member in another home as officially permitted. Paying part of the bill or using a separate profile does not change the account terms.
The available Crave terms do not establish a Netflix-style paid extra-member option. Nor do they establish that Crave uses Netflix’s specific household-verification process. Whether Crave actively checks locations, blocks logins, or prompts for verification is not established by the cited material, so it would be misleading to promise either that a second household will work indefinitely or that Crave will automatically block it.
For adults and parents at different addresses, students living away during term, a vacation home, or a roommate who has moved out, the relevant distinction is whether the person is part of the same household—not whether they are related or once lived together. If the other person now lives separately, use a separate subscription unless Crave confirms that your particular arrangement is allowed.
How Crave sharing differs from Netflix
Netflix is a comparison, not a rulebook for Crave. Netflix says an account is for one household and documents an extra-member option for eligible Standard and Premium customers in many countries, including Canada. Eligibility depends on the plan and billing arrangement; ad-supported plans are not eligible for adding an extra member. Crave’s cited terms prohibit account sharing, and the available official material does not establish an equivalent extra-member feature.

What to do if viewing is interrupted
If a stream limit appears to have been reached, an older session may still be playing on another device. Try these general steps; exact menus and controls can vary by account and provider:
- Stop playback on another device that may be streaming Crave.
- Close the Crave app or browser tab on devices that may have an active session.
- If your account-management page offers device removal or sign-out controls, remove an unfamiliar device or sign it out.
- Reopen Crave and try again. If the issue continues, contact Crave or the provider that bills you.
A SaskTel support page describes removing devices as a response to a “too many devices” issue, but that provider guidance may not match every Crave account or interface. The subscription route matters for account linking, billing, eligibility, and feature availability. Identify whether your Crave access is billed directly, supplied by Bell or another TV provider, included with a mobile-provider promotion, or part of a bundle. The person who controls the subscription may need to manage it through that provider rather than through Crave.
Bell says customers adding a bundle who already pay directly for Crave, Netflix, or Disney+ must manage those existing subscriptions separately to avoid duplicate billing. Bell also describes linking existing Crave access to a Bell Media account. Before switching, check which account is billed and whether the new offer requires cancelling or changing an existing subscription. Choose the practical option for your situation
- Everyone lives in the same home: Use the plan’s supported streams and separate profiles if available. Consider a higher tier only if your household needs its additional streams or video quality.
- The other viewer lives elsewhere: Get a separate Crave subscription, compare an eligible provider bundle, or ask Crave support whether your exact arrangement is permitted. Don’t rely on informal password-sharing if dependable access matters.
- You travel or spend time at a second home: Don’t assume Netflix’s travel and household-device procedures apply to Crave. Check Crave or your billing provider’s guidance for your account before relying on access away from home.
- You are comparing a bundle: Compare the full offer and eligibility against your existing subscriptions, and check for duplicate billing before signing up.
