No. As of August 2026, Tubi does not let you download movies or TV episodes for offline playback. Tubi’s official Help Center says an active internet connection is required and that its videos cannot be downloaded. You can install the free, ad-supported Tubi app on supported devices, but installing the app is not the same as saving a movie.
The short answer
Tubi is an online streaming service, not an offline-download service. There is no official Download button, downloadable movie file, or offline library in Tubi’s apps or website. The service-wide answer applies whether you watch on a phone, tablet, computer, smart TV, streaming stick, or game console.

What you can download—and what you cannot
- You can download: the Tubi application from an app store.
- You cannot download: Tubi movies or episodes for playback without internet.
- You can save: titles to a watchlist and retain viewing progress.
- You cannot use a watchlist offline: saved titles are account pointers, not locally stored video files.
Tubi describes its app and content as free and advertising-supported; it says a credit card is not required. Those facts do not imply offline access. Ads and licensed content are still delivered through online streaming.

Tubi lists these environments in its device-installation guidance and support pages. Device availability means the app can stream; it does not mean movies are stored locally.
Why you cannot find a Download button
Tubi has not documented a download workflow because the feature is unavailable. Tubi confirms that its service is ad-supported and funded by content supplied by studio and independent partners. Advertising, licensing, storage and periodic rights checks could make offline playback more complicated, but Tubi does not identify a specific one of those as the official reason. The verified facts are simply that Tubi requires internet access and does not support video downloads.

What about casting, AirPlay or screen mirroring?
They do not make Tubi available offline. Casting and mirroring send or display an online stream; they do not create an authorized local copy. Tubi’s casting and linking instructions still require the relevant devices and the Tubi app to be connected for playback.

What about screen recorders and downloader websites?
Those are not Tubi features or supported solutions. Unofficial tools may stop working when Tubi changes its technology, expose your account or device to malware, and raise copyright, contract or privacy issues depending on the circumstances and jurisdiction. Do not enter Tubi credentials into an unknown downloader, and do not treat a recording or extracted stream as an authorized Tubi download. This article does not provide instructions for bypassing technical protections.

If you need a movie for a flight or trip
Tubi can help you browse, choose titles and build a watchlist while you are online, but the movie will still need internet access when you press Play. If no connectivity at playback time is non-negotiable, choose a service that explicitly offers authorized downloads or purchase/rent the particular movie from a service that supports offline playback.

Prices, plan names, catalogs and download eligibility change by country, billing channel, promotion and title. Check the provider’s page before paying. No researched source supports promising a major free service with Tubi’s catalog and authorized offline downloads.

Offline-download checklist for another service
- Confirm that the exact movie has a download icon; download rights vary by title.
- Download while connected to reliable Wi-Fi and wait for completion.
- Leave enough storage for the selected quality.
- Test the title in airplane mode before departing.
- Check expiration dates, subscription status and any required periodic sign-in.
- Keep the official app installed and the correct account signed in.

Why did installing Tubi not make it work in airplane mode?
App installation only installs the player. Tubi still requires an active internet connection to view content.
Can My List play movies without Wi-Fi?
No. My List saves titles to your account; it does not download video.

Does Tubi work offline on a smart TV or Roku?
No. Those platforms can run the Tubi app where supported, but Tubi’s internet requirement still applies.
Bottom line
Tubi is free for ad-supported online streaming, but it currently does not support movie or TV downloads on any official platform. For a flight, commute or unreliable connection, use a service with a clearly documented download feature—or buy or rent the specific movie from a service that permits offline playback.
