You cannot officially download Disney+ movies or shows to a Windows computer or Windows 10/11 tablet. Windows supports Disney+ streaming through the Microsoft Store app and supported browsers, but offline downloads must be made in the Disney+ app on a supported mobile or specialized device.
No—not officially. Disney+ does not currently support downloading movies or episodes to a Windows computer or a Windows 10/11 tablet. Windows is supported for streaming, but the Disney+ Windows app and supported browsers do not provide a download library for offline playback.
If you need to watch Disney+ without an internet connection, download the title in the Disney+ app on a supported phone or tablet instead. The download stays inside the Disney+ app on that device; it cannot be moved to your Windows laptop or copied to a Windows tablet.
What you can do on Windows
Disney+ supports Windows 10 and Windows 11 computers and tablets for online viewing. You have two official ways to watch:

- Use the Disney+ app: Open the Microsoft Store, search for Disney+, and install or launch the official app.
- Use a browser: Open Disney+ in a current version of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, or Opera on Windows 10 or later.
After installing the app or opening the website, sign in with the Disney account attached to your subscription, search for a movie or series, and select Play. This gives you online streaming—not an offline copy that can be played later without an internet connection.
Why there is no Download button on Windows
The missing button is normally expected behavior rather than a problem with your computer. Disney’s download guidance excludes computers and Windows 10/11 tablets from downloads and directs users to supported mobile or specialized devices instead.
There are two separate requirements:
- The device must support downloads. A Windows PC and a Windows tablet do not currently qualify, even if the Disney+ app is installed.
- The title must be downloadable. Even on a supported phone or tablet, download availability can vary by movie or episode.
In other words, reinstalling the Windows app, changing browsers, or searching for a hidden setting will not add official Windows downloads.
The official way to watch Disney+ offline
Use the Disney+ app on a supported download-capable device. Disney currently lists Apple iPhones and iPads, Android phones and tablets, Amazon Fire tablets, Apple Vision Pro, and Meta Quest among its supported categories. Device availability and requirements can vary by territory.

- Install or open the Disney+ app on the supported device.
- Sign in to the eligible Disney+ account.
- Open the movie or series you want to save.
- Tap the Download icon. For a series, select the download option beside an individual episode or use the available season controls.
- When you are offline, open the app’s Downloads section and press Play.
For Android, Disney documents support for Android phones and tablets running Android 6.0 Marshmallow or later. Amazon Fire tablets require Fire OS 6.0 or later under Disney’s device guidance. Apple’s current device documentation separately lists iPhones and iPads running iOS 16.5 or later. Check the requirements shown for your country and device before buying hardware, because Disney can change supported versions and availability.

Best workaround for a Windows laptop traveler
If your main computer is a Windows laptop, download the movie to a supported Android tablet before leaving home and use the tablet for offline playback. Continue using the Windows laptop for Disney+ streaming whenever you have a reliable internet connection.
This is a second-device workaround, not a file-transfer method. Disney downloads are managed by the Disney+ app and remain available on the device used to download them. You cannot download on an Android tablet and then transfer the Disney+ movie to Windows through USB, an SD card, cloud storage, or a file-sharing service.
An iPad is another supported option, and an Amazon Fire tablet may suit readers looking for a lower-cost tablet. Confirm the operating-system version, Disney+ plan eligibility, regional availability, and the specific device model before purchasing. None of these devices makes the downloaded Disney+ files transferable to a Windows PC.
Which Disney+ subscription includes downloads?
Offline downloads require an eligible subscription tier. Disney’s current download guidance lists Disney+ Premium and certain Premium bundle or legacy tiers as eligible, while Disney’s troubleshooting guidance says ad-supported plans do not support downloads.
Plan names, bundles, prices, and availability vary by country and can change. Check the plan details in your Disney+ account before subscribing or changing tiers. If you switch from a download-eligible plan to a non-download plan, previously downloaded content may no longer be available.

Download limits and expiration rules
Disney+ downloads are temporary and subject to service restrictions. In general, downloaded content remains available only when:
- your Disney+ subscription remains active;
- the device connects to the internet at least once every 30 days;
- the title has not expired or otherwise been removed from download availability; and
- you remain signed in to the Disney+ app.
Logging out removes downloads from the device. A downloaded title can also stop working if its licensing period ends. Downloads are therefore useful for a trip or a period without connectivity, but they are not permanent movie files that you own.

The Disney+ app provides Standard, Medium, and High download-quality choices. Standard uses the least storage and generally downloads fastest. High uses more storage and can take longer, while Medium is a compromise between image quality, storage use, and download time.
Before a trip, connect the supported device to Wi-Fi, check its free storage, select an appropriate quality, and test one downloaded title by enabling airplane mode. This confirms that the download is present and playable before you leave.

What not to use for Disney+ Windows downloads
Programs and browser extensions that claim to download Disney+ movies directly to Windows are not official Disney solutions. The same caution applies to screen recorders, DRM-removal tools, file converters, and services that promise permanent Disney+ MP4 files.
Disney’s subscriber agreement limits streaming and temporary downloading to compatible devices and prohibits bypassing or interfering with DRM, the player, and other content-protection measures. A tool may advertise Windows support, but that does not make it approved. It may also produce files that fail, lose access when rights change, expose your account or computer to security risks, or violate the agreement or applicable law.

- Check the device first. If you are using a Windows PC or Windows tablet, the missing Download button is expected. Try a supported iPhone, iPad, Android device, Fire tablet, Apple Vision Pro, or Meta Quest instead.
- Verify the subscription tier. Confirm that your current plan includes downloads. An ad-supported or otherwise non-eligible plan will not provide the feature.
- Check the specific title. Some movies and episodes may not be available for download.
- Update the app and operating system. Install available Disney+ app updates and update the supported mobile device to a compatible operating-system version.
- Check storage and connectivity. Free storage and a stable internet connection are needed to complete a download. Wi-Fi is preferable for large files.
- Connect periodically. Open Disney+ online at least once every 30 days so downloads can be checked and renewed where permitted.
- Do not log out after downloading. Logging out removes the device’s downloads.
Bottom line for Windows users
You cannot currently download Disney+ movies or shows directly to a Windows computer or Windows 10/11 tablet through an official Disney+ feature. Install the Disney+ Windows app or use a supported browser for streaming. For offline viewing, use an eligible plan and download through the Disney+ app on a supported mobile device—preferably an Android tablet, iPad, or Fire tablet if you need a larger screen—without expecting to transfer the download to Windows.
