Not indefinitely. Restream can loop a prerecorded video in a scheduled YouTube livestream, but its documented event limit is 10 plays and a maximum of 40 hours. The feature is listed for Restream’s Marathon and Media add-on plans. If you need an uploaded video to keep a YouTube channel live around the clock, StreamNeo is an alternative that loops from the cloud; it is built for continuous streaming rather than a capped prerecorded event.
What Restream’s loop limit means
Restream’s scheduled prerecorded-livestream feature lets you choose how many times a video repeats. Restream documents a maximum of 10 plays and a 40-hour maximum for the resulting looped stream. That makes it a finite replay, not an indefinite 24/7 loop. The feature is identified for Marathon and Media add-on plans; check Restream’s current plan details before relying on access, since eligibility can change. Restream’s scheduling instructions and looping limits describe the feature.
How to schedule a prerecorded YouTube livestream in Restream
- From the Restream home screen, select New Stream, then Pre-recorded livestream.
- Select a saved recording or upload a video, then continue to the event details.
- Enter the title and description, choose the event date and time, and set the loop count to 10 or fewer.
- Enable your YouTube channel and create the event. Restream says it starts automatically at the scheduled time.
- Monitor the event while it airs. Viewers can use live chat during a prerecorded event.
These are Restream’s documented product steps, not a guarantee that a specific account or plan has the same options; confirm that the prerecorded event feature is available in your account before scheduling. See Restream’s event guide.

- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- Containers: MP4, MOV, M4V, or MKV.
- Video encoding: H.264.
- Audio encoding: AAC.
- Keyframe interval: 2.
- Recommended picture and frame rate: 1920×1080 Full HD at 30 or 60 FPS.
- Bitrate: constant bitrate is recommended.
- Head and tail: Restream recommends adding 15–20 seconds at the beginning and end to reduce the chance that platform processing cuts off important content.
Check the current requirements in Restream’s video requirements before uploading, particularly if you export using a less common container or encoding profile.
Scheduled events and Studio playback are different
A scheduled prerecorded livestream is an event you configure to start at a set time; its documented repeat and total-duration limits apply. Restream Studio also has a loop control for video playback in a Studio session, but that is a different workflow. The Studio guide says it can play one video from storage at a time, with file-size and duration limits depending on the plan. A Studio loop control should not be taken as evidence that a scheduled event can run without end. See Restream’s Studio playback guide.

What happens to a long YouTube livestream and its archive?
Live duration and saved replay are separate considerations. Restream’s YouTube guide says YouTube has no livestream duration limit, but archives only streams shorter than 12 hours. In other words, the 12-hour figure is an archive limitation, not a YouTube rule that automatically ends the live broadcast. A stream lasting 12 hours or more may not be saved as a YouTube video. Restream’s YouTube guide and duration guidance distinguish the two.
Restream separately warns that its servers may undergo maintenance and restart after more than 24 continuous hours, and recommends restarting streams every 24 hours. That is Restream operational guidance, separate from YouTube’s archive behavior. If you need a reliable archive, plan a shorter broadcast and confirm the archive is available after the event rather than assuming a long live stream will be preserved.

Playlist workaround and its limit
Restream says playlists do not currently support looping. Its suggested workaround is to duplicate videos in the playlist, up to a 40-video playlist limit. This can repeat selected material within a playlist, but it is not the same as an indefinitely looping scheduled event; the documented 40-hour maximum remains relevant to the prerecorded loop feature. Check Restream’s looping page for current behavior.
Before going live: channel access and content rights
The channel owner must connect the YouTube channel to Restream. Restream’s YouTube guidance says first-time livestreaming requires phone verification followed by a 24-hour wait. YouTube account requirements may change, so consult Restream’s YouTube setup guide if livestreaming is not enabled.

Make sure you have the rights needed to stream every part of the recording, including music, footage, narration, and images. A prerecorded format does not exempt a broadcast from copyright rules or YouTube’s policies. Repeating the same video also does not guarantee monetization: YouTube reviews channels under its own monetization policies, including rules concerning reused or repetitive content. Review YouTube’s current Community Guidelines and channel monetization policies before building a recurring stream around material you did not create or license. (If these specific policy links are not available in your region, use YouTube Help to locate the applicable current guidance.)

- The loop option is missing: Confirm you are creating a prerecorded livestream rather than a Studio playback session, and verify that the account has a plan that includes the feature. Restream lists Marathon and Media add-on plans for scheduled looping; check the current plan details.
- The event stops sooner than expected: Check the selected repeat count and the 40-hour maximum. A loop count above 10 is not supported.
- The video upload is rejected or playback fails: Check that the file uses a supported container, H.264 video, AAC audio, and a keyframe interval of 2. Consult Restream’s video requirements.
- YouTube does not show a replay: Restream says YouTube archives only livestreams shorter than 12 hours. A live broadcast can continue beyond that point without a saved archive.
- The stream ends or restarts during a very long run: Restream recommends a restart every 24 hours because its servers may undergo maintenance beyond 24 continuous hours. Schedule a controlled restart rather than assuming one event will run forever.
- The YouTube channel cannot be enabled: Confirm channel connection and livestream eligibility. First-time YouTube livestreaming may require phone verification and a 24-hour wait, according to Restream’s guidance.
