Yes, it can give people another way to discover your channel—but a 24/7 stream is not a guaranteed funnel to your other videos. YouTube says recommendations are personalized and shaped by viewer interests and how content performs; it does not say that streaming continuously automatically boosts a channel’s uploaded videos. Make the next relevant video easy to find, then use your own YouTube Analytics to see whether viewers actually move from the stream to it.
What a 24/7 stream can—and cannot—do
An always-on stream creates a live destination where viewers may encounter your channel. Whether they then watch an uploaded documentary, another episode, or a related playlist depends on what they choose to watch and find useful. YouTube describes recommendations as personalized, based on signals such as what viewers choose to watch, ignore, or dismiss and how long they watch. Its guidance says it does not favor a particular video format; the available evidence does not establish that continuous streaming itself raises views on other uploads.
YouTube’s recommendation guidance puts it this way: “Ultimately, YouTube’s recommendations are driven by what viewers watch and enjoy.” YouTube’s Recommendation System and How YouTube recommendations work describe the system, not a guaranteed traffic path from a live stream to a regular video. YouTube does not publish a universal conversion rate for 24/7 streams sending viewers to other videos.
Give live viewers a relevant next step
Viewers who came for a documentary stream are more likely to understand a specific, related recommendation than a generic invitation to browse the channel. YouTube recommends helping viewers discover more of your content through series, clear calls to action, playlists, and end screens.

- Point to a related playlist: For a stream focused on a historical period, suggest the playlist covering that period rather than an unrelated upload.
- Organize videos as a series: Label episodes clearly and direct viewers to the next installment.
- Use an end screen where it applies: Add a relevant video or playlist as the stream ends or on a suitable archived video. Do not assume a continuous broadcast will have a useful ending for every viewer.
- Make the call to action specific: Tell viewers what they will find in the next video or playlist, and where to click.
Keep the recommendation close to the subject and experience viewers came for. A link is only an invitation; viewers decide whether to follow it.
When Live Redirect can help
YouTube’s Live Redirect can send viewers from a live stream to a Premiere after the stream ends. It is not a general redirect to any ordinary uploaded video. To send a redirect, your channel needs more than 1,000 subscribers and no Community Guidelines strikes. Redirecting viewers to another channel’s live stream also requires that channel’s permission.

This makes Live Redirect most relevant when the stream has a planned end and a Premiere is the next event. It is not a substitute for placing a related playlist or video where viewers can find it during an ongoing 24/7 broadcast.
Measure whether viewers continue to your videos
Do not treat uptime, concurrent viewers, or stream views alone as proof that the stream is driving views elsewhere. YouTube’s Studio reports can help you inspect discovery and audience behavior, but YouTube does not provide a published conversion benchmark for this tactic.

- Set a defined trial period. Choose a start and end date and note any major changes to the stream, promotion, or channel during that period.
- Check live traffic sources. In YouTube Studio, open the Content tab’s live analytics to review how people found the stream, including sources such as YouTube Search, Suggested videos, playlists, and external sources. See Content tab analytics tips — Live.
- Inspect related video and audience behavior. Use Studio Analytics to see whether views and watch behavior on the videos or playlists you promoted changed during the trial. Audience reports can also show when your viewers are online, other content they watch, and which formats they watch. See Understand your YouTube audience.
- Compare like with like. Compare live streams with other live streams and regular videos with comparable regular videos where possible. YouTube notes that behavior differs across formats, so a raw stream-to-video comparison may be misleading.
- Look beyond clicks. YouTube recommends considering appeal (whether impressions lead to clicks), engagement (whether people watch), and satisfaction (whether they watch for a meaningful duration and may return). A click on a related video is not the whole story.
These comparisons can show whether your channel’s results changed alongside the stream; they do not, by themselves, prove the stream caused the change. YouTube’s official guidance describes recommendation signals and Analytics features, but does not establish a causal effect or a universal target conversion rate for 24/7 broadcasts.

Do not rely on a complete replay
YouTube says live streams under 12 hours are automatically archived, while streams over 12 hours may not be captured. A continuous 24/7 broadcaster should not assume YouTube will preserve one complete replay. If a replay matters, plan separate sessions under 12 hours or keep your own recording; a split stream may also make the live experience less continuous.

Choose an appropriate way to go live
YouTube supports mobile, webcam, software-encoder, and hardware-encoder paths. Its live streaming tips say expensive equipment is not necessary to get started. An encoder can support a more involved production, but equipment does not guarantee discovery or better recommendations.
For an encoder stream, follow YouTube’s guidance in Create a YouTube live stream with an encoder and Choose live encoder settings, bitrates, and resolutions: select a quality that fits your upload connection, test bitrate and stream health, and use RTMPS for secure ingestion. These are reliability and setup considerations, not a way to make YouTube recommend your other videos.
