Yes. YouTube TV carries C-SPAN, C-SPAN2, and C-SPAN3 in the United States, so viewers can watch the three networks through a live-TV streaming subscription rather than traditional cable. They are not free or available as a YouTube TV channel purchase on their own: access comes with a qualifying YouTube TV plan.
The partnership was announced on September 3, 2025, and YouTube announced that live C-SPAN coverage was available on YouTube TV in December 2025. This article reflects the service and price information available as of August 18, 2026.

The agreement covers all three networks, not just a single C-SPAN feed. Their schedules change, so check C-SPAN’s current schedule for what is airing.

- C-SPAN2: Senate coverage and Book TV, among other programming.
- C-SPAN3: Hearings, historical programming, and other public-affairs coverage.
The change is that the three live networks joined a major streaming-TV bundle—not that C-SPAN became available online for the first time. C-SPAN already offered online video, event coverage, and archive material through its own services and YouTube presence. YouTube described the TV carriage agreement as part of a broader partnership tied to the United States’ 250th anniversary. Which YouTube TV plan includes C-SPAN?
YouTube’s announcement said the three networks would join YouTube TV’s base package. Current help pages call the comprehensive package simply YouTube TV; “Base Plan” is older terminology. You do not need a premium add-on or separate C-SPAN subscription for the networks in that main plan. YouTube TV does not let subscribers build a custom package by selecting individual channels.
YouTube TV’s official sign-up information lists the main plan at $82.99 per month, plus tax. The figure was current in the available official documentation as of August 18, 2026; confirm the price, trial, and terms at checkout, since promotions and prices can change. YouTube also lists C-SPAN in its Sports + News package announcement. That package launched with a stated standard price of $71.99 per month and an introductory $56.99 monthly price for new users. Those are launch-period figures, not a guarantee of today’s price or promotion. Check the current plan selector and channel lineup for your location and billing setup before switching. The genre bundle is still a bundle—not a C-SPAN-only option—and may leave out entertainment or other channels your household watches. Details are in YouTube’s plan announcement.
How to find C-SPAN in the YouTube TV guide
- Open the YouTube TV app or visit YouTube TV in a browser.
- Select the Live tab.
- Search for C-SPAN, C-SPAN2, or C-SPAN3, or look through the guide.
- Select the network or program to watch. Use Add to Library to record a program.
If you personalized the Live guide, a newly added network may not appear in your visible lineup automatically. Open Live, select Sort, then Edit, and add or unhide the C-SPAN networks. You can reorder them there as well. YouTube TV’s guide instructions explain guide customization.

If a C-SPAN network is missing
- Check your plan. Confirm that your current package includes the network; the main YouTube TV plan is the clearest option for the full lineup. Plan details can change, and genre-plan availability may vary.
- Check the custom guide. Search for the channel or edit the Live lineup to add or unhide it.
- Check how you pay. A subscription billed through a carrier, internet provider, or app store may not show every plan choice. Review YouTube TV’s plan availability guidance.
- Refresh the app. Update YouTube TV, sign out and back in, restart your streaming device, or try the service in a browser. Confirm your account and plan before contacting support.
- Check your location and ZIP code. YouTube TV uses location information and network availability can vary. C-SPAN is a national service, but location can still affect the wider guide and plan experience. See YouTube TV’s location guidance.
Can you record C-SPAN?
YouTube TV advertises unlimited DVR storage, which is useful for saving a hearing or public-affairs program to watch later. A DVR recording is not a permanent copy you own: access remains subject to YouTube TV’s rules and channel availability. If a plan change removes a channel, you may also lose access to recordings from it; YouTube TV says access may be restored if you return to a qualifying plan within 21 days. Is YouTube TV worth it if C-SPAN is the main reason?
For someone who watches only an occasional hearing, an $82.99-per-month live-TV subscription is likely more than necessary. YouTube TV makes more sense for viewers who also want a broad live channel lineup, a conventional guide, household access, and DVR recording. Its inclusion of all three networks removes the need for traditional cable for this particular bundle, but it does not make the subscription a C-SPAN service by itself.

- Want the three networks alongside a general live-TV replacement: YouTube TV may be a convenient fit; compare the current plan price with the channels your household actually watches.
- Want sports and national news but fewer general entertainment channels: Check whether Sports + News is currently offered to you and verify its lineup and checkout price.
- Already pay for another live-TV bundle: Compare its current channel list before adding a second subscription.
Free and paid alternatives
C-SPAN.org provides schedules, online streams, video, and archive material. C-SPAN also publishes content through its official YouTube presence; the partnership announcement describes its expanded presence on the platform. These options can be enough for clips, selected events, or occasional viewing, but they should not be treated as a promise of three continuous, unrestricted network feeds or the same guide and DVR experience as YouTube TV. Check C-SPAN’s schedule or livestream page for a specific event.
C-SPAN also announced that all three networks would be carried on Hulu + Live TV. Verify the current price and package placement directly before subscribing. Cable and satellite remain options too, but channel availability and numbers vary by provider and market.

For civics-focused households, the practical benefit is having House and Senate coverage, hearings, Book TV, and historical programming in a familiar live-TV app, with search and DVR tools. YouTube TV supports common television and mobile devices, multiple household accounts, and up to three simultaneous streams under its standard service description; check its current feature details. C-SPAN’s own site may offer different archive and search tools, so YouTube TV should not be assumed to replace every C-SPAN digital feature.
