En relatos publicados por People en Español y Primicias, Schaback atribuyó a Mario Búcaro, identificado por Primicias como CEO de Miss Universo, una frase sobre las concursantes casadas. Según su testimonio, durante una actividad en Tailandia Búcaro dijo que una Miss Universo no podía estar casada porque su compromiso debía ser con la organización y sus patrocinadores. Primicias reprodujo la frase así: “Miss Universo, no puede estar casada, porque está casada con la organización Miss Universo y con los patrocinadores”.

Schaback dijo que buscó una aclaración y que, en una entrevista, Búcaro le preguntó por la edad de su hijo. Ella consideró discriminatoria la situación y fue citada por Primicias diciendo: “Para mí, toda esta situación, se llama discriminación”. Tanto el comentario como el contexto de la conversación deben entenderse como el relato de Schaback: las fuentes citadas no presentan una grabación ni una transcripción oficial independiente que confirme las palabras atribuidas a Búcaro.
¿Qué respondió la organización nacional?
La organización local negó que la salida se debiera a un conflicto personal. En una declaración recogida por El Universo, sostuvo que algunos comentarios públicos recientes de Schaback fueron “inapropiados, perjudiciales para otros, no alineados con los protocolos profesionales y contribuyeron a la controversia pública”. Esa respuesta no ofrece una contestación detallada al comentario que Schaback atribuyó a Búcaro.

La cobertura de Excélsior y El Universal de México también informó que Schaback dijo que se le pidió apoyar a la organización internacional en medio de controversias y expresó respaldo a Olivia Yacé, quien había renunciado. Estas explicaciones posteriores amplían su versión, pero no cambian el motivo que expuso en su anuncio inicial: sus diferencias de valores y ética laboral con la dirección nacional.

La cobertura citada no indica que Schaback señalara directamente el triunfo de Fátima Bosch como causa de su renuncia. El anuncio llegó 48 horas después de la final, según El Universo, pero la cercanía temporal no demuestra por sí sola una relación causal. Las acusaciones de fraude que circularon alrededor del concurso tampoco son necesarias para explicar la renuncia y no deben tratarse como hechos probados en este caso.
