The “10 years later” marker for Breaking Bad refers to the tenth anniversary of its 2008 premiere, celebrated in 2018—not a decade since the series ended. The drama ran for five seasons and 62 episodes, from January 20, 2008, through September 29, 2013. Here is who the principal cast played and what dated reporting says about some of their later work.
What the 10-year anniversary marked
Breaking Bad premiered in 2008 and concluded in 2013. AMC marked the premiere’s tenth anniversary with a reunion panel at San Diego Comic-Con on July 19, 2018. The network announced that Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, RJ Mitte, Dean Norris, Betsy Brandt, Bob Odenkirk, Giancarlo Esposito, and creator Vince Gilligan were scheduled to take part. The anniversary was about the show’s debut, not its finale. (AMC, July 5, 2018)
The Television Academy describes the series as a five-season, 62-episode drama set and produced in Albuquerque. Its central story follows Walter White, a chemistry teacher whose choices draw him into the drug trade. Gilligan later described the character’s self-deception as part of the show’s experiment: Walter still sees himself as a good provider and a good man, though he is anything but. A cast retrospective can show that performers moved on to other screen work, advocacy, or business, but a dated credit does not prove that a project remains active. A Just Jared article published January 3, 2026, uses a similar “where are they now?” framing; its accessible text confirms its date and retrospective subject, but not the individual slideshow details. It therefore cannot substantiate specific current projects here. (Just Jared, January 3, 2026)
