Want to revisit Danny Reagan’s original story? Look for the Blue Bloods complete-series DVD. The physical set is documented in home-entertainment release coverage and retailer listings, but the DVD contains Blue Bloods, not Boston Blue.
Who plays Lena Silver, Danny Reagan’s new partner?
Sonequa Martin-Green plays Detective Lena Silver, Danny’s new Boston Police Department partner. Lena is not simply a replacement for Danny’s former Blue Bloods colleagues; she anchors a new Boston-based ensemble built around the Silver family.
CBS describes Lena’s family and network as including Sarah Silver, the police superintendent; Mae Silver, the district attorney; Jonah Silver, a rookie cop; and Reverend Edwin Peters. That structure gives Danny a new professional partner and a new family-centered circle of characters at the same time.
Who plays the Silver family in Boston Blue?
Maggie Lawson plays Police Superintendent Sarah Silver, Marcus Scribner plays rookie cop Jonah Silver, Gloria Reuben plays District Attorney Mae Silver, and Ernie Hudson plays Reverend Edwin Peters. The official Paramount Press Express roster confirms the actors and character names.

Who plays Sean Reagan?
Mika Amonsen plays Sean Reagan, Danny’s son. Sean supplies the most direct continuing Reagan-family connection in the principal cast, while the story also gives Danny an opportunity to reconnect with him in Boston. CBS’s episode material indicates that Sean and Jonah have continuing storylines together.
Which Blue Bloods cast members return in Boston Blue?
Bridget Moynahan appears as Erin Reagan and Marisa Ramirez appears as Maria Baez in official promotional material for the Boston Blue premiere. Those appearances are confirmed by the cited promotional archive, but the material does not prove that Moynahan or Ramirez is a permanent Boston Blue regular.
The available official material does not establish a complete season-wide list of returning Blue Bloods alumni. For that reason, “principal cast” is more accurate than “every returning cast member” unless each episode’s credits are separately checked.

The story moves Danny from the New York-centered world of Blue Bloods to the Boston Police Department. That establishes Boston as the drama’s narrative setting, but the available research does not verify that the series was filmed in Boston. A CBS Boston report noted that the filming location was not known at the time of the announcement, so the production location should not be inferred from the title.
