The moment came after Flay had publicly confirmed in June that they were officially dating.
What happened at the US Open
Us Weekly reported that Flay and Williamson were at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center on Thursday, September 4, 2025. During a match, the broadcast camera panned to the pair; Williamson put an arm around Flay’s neck and kissed him. The outlet also reported that Williamson shared photos and videos from the tournament on Instagram Stories. These details are based on Us Weekly’s account of the broadcast and the evening.
What Flay had said about their relationship
In a June 2025 interview with People, Flay said that he and Williamson had been friends for a long time and had filmed a show before they “started actually officially dating,” as reported by Us Weekly on June 4. He also described their shared interests in cooking, parenting, and the restaurant business: “We’re very lucky,” he said. “We’re both chefs. We both have kids. We’re both parents.” Those comments predated the US Open appearance; they were not remarks made at the tournament.
Viewers reacted with surprise
Us Weekly quoted social media posts from viewers reacting to seeing the pair together, including “@ChefBrookeW are you dating Bobby flay?! #USOpen2025 #bobbyflay” and “Bobby Flay is with Brooke Williamson? I’m learning a lot from watching the #USOpen.” They are examples of responses cited by the outlet, not a measure of broader audience opinion.

Later relationship reporting
In coverage updated August 6, 2026, Us Weekly reported later comments about the relationship, including Flay calling Williamson his girlfriend in an August 2026 television appearance and describing them as a “permanent couple” in January 2026. Those reports are later than the September 2025 US Open sighting and should be read as dated public comments, not as evidence of private details beyond what was reported.
