Blue Lock season 3 is confirmed, titled Blue Lock: Neo Egoist League, and listed as in production. The next arc gives the anime a clear story reason to continue. Whether it can restore confidence after criticism of season 2’s animation is still an open question: no release date has been announced, and official information does not establish a corrective plan.
Is Blue Lock season 3 confirmed?
Yes. The official anime site announced sequel production on September 28, 2025, and revealed the third season’s title, Blue Lock: Neo Egoist League, on June 9, 2026. The title was announced with a teaser visual featuring Yoichi Isagi and Michael Kaiser. The sequel announcement and the title announcement establish that this is a planned continuation, not merely a possibility being discussed.

The current official anime site lists the season as in production, names Eight Bit for animation production, and credits Kazuki Ura as Isagi and Mamoru Miyano as Kaiser. The reviewed official pages do not give a premiere date, episode count, or detailed production schedule.
When will Blue Lock season 3 come out?
No release date is stated on the official pages reviewed. Without a confirmed date or schedule, it would be speculation to say when the season will premiere or to attach its release to an expected event. The official status is simply that the season is in production.

What story will the new season adapt?
The title points to the Neo Egoist League arc. In the official sequel announcement, manga artist Yusuke Nomura described the new series as an adaptation of “新英雄大戦” (Neo Egoist League). He wrote: “ついに発表となりました!アニメ新シリーズ!!いよいよ〝新英雄大戦〟の映像化ですね。” A concise translation is: “It’s finally been announced! A new anime series!! At last, the Neo Egoist League is being brought to the screen.” The teaser’s focus on Isagi and Kaiser signals two central figures, but it does not show how the adaptation will handle their story.
Was Blue Lock season 2’s animation really that bad?
Season 2’s animation drew public criticism; GamesRadar’s June 2026 coverage explicitly referred to “season 2 animation controversies.” That supports describing criticism as part of the conversation, not treating it as a verdict shared by every viewer. The sources reviewed do not provide comparable season-to-season audience, sales, or review figures that demonstrate a measurable decline for the series as a whole.
Rank #2
Nor does the official information reviewed say that production has changed to address the criticism. The studio is identified, but there is no stated corrective plan or footage establishing how the matches will look in motion. Viewers can reasonably wait to judge the animation until there is material that shows it.
Does Blue Lock’s reported manga circulation prove the franchise is slumping?
No. ORICON NEWS reported in September 2025 that the manga had surpassed 50 million copies in circulation. That publisher-reported circulation figure shows the scale of the franchise; it is not a measure of sales during a particular anime season or evidence of a recent rise or fall. ORICON also dates season 1’s broadcast to October 2022–March 2023 and season 2’s to October–December 2024, but those dates alone do not establish a performance trend. ORICON’s report provides context, not proof of a slump.
Should Blue Lock continue?
Yes—the Neo Egoist League gives the adaptation a clear next story arc, and the official production decision has already been made. The stronger question for viewers is whether the season will make that arc compelling on screen and whether the action will feel dynamic and legible after the criticism directed at season 2. Those answers are not available from the announcements alone. The season has a reason to exist; it still has to earn renewed confidence through its execution.
