Jugram Haschwalth’s signature Schrift is B: The Balance, which shifts misfortune toward those who have experienced good fortune. He also temporarily receives The Almighty while Yhwach sleeps, but his version grants future sight rather than Yhwach’s broader ability to change the future.
What is Jugram Haschwalth’s power?
Haschwalth’s defining ability is B: The Balance. Rather than functioning as a straightforward attack or an ordinary shield, it manipulates the relationship between fortune and misfortune. In the account summarized by the Bleach Wiki character reference, misfortune can be redirected toward people who have experienced good fortune.
That makes The Balance dangerous because an opponent’s apparent advantage may become a liability. The ability is not best understood as a guaranteed victory or simple immunity: its explanation turns on how fortune and misfortune are distributed, and on the role of Haschwalth’s defensive tool.
How do The Balance and Freund Schild work together?
The Balance redirects misfortune
The Balance is described as shifting misfortune within its sphere of influence toward those who have received good fortune. In practice, that makes the Schrift more than a defensive counterattack: it changes who bears the bad outcome.

Freund Schild absorbs misfortune aimed at Haschwalth
Freund Schild, described as a Reishi shield on Haschwalth’s left arm, absorbs misfortune that would otherwise affect him. The character reference presents that absorbed misfortune as material The Balance can turn back toward an opponent. This is an absorption-and-redirection interaction, not a promise that every incoming attack simply fails.
Does Jugram Haschwalth have The Almighty?
Temporarily. The character reference describes a power exchange associated with Yhwach’s sleep: while Yhwach sleeps, Haschwalth receives The Almighty. This is separate from Haschwalth’s own signature Schrift, The Balance.

Haschwalth’s version of The Almighty is limited in scope. It lets him see the future that is on track to unfold, but the reference distinguishes it from Yhwach’s ability: Haschwalth cannot alter the future or survey multiple possible futures. In short, his temporary access is future sight, not the full future-changing power attributed to Yhwach.
Is Haschwalth stronger than Yhwach?
There is no useful, evidence-based universal ranking to give from these abilities alone. A more precise comparison is:

| Comparison | Jugram Haschwalth | Yhwach |
|---|---|---|
| Access to The Almighty | Temporary, during the power exchange associated with Yhwach’s sleep | The ability is his; the cited character reference describes Haschwalth’s access as occurring when Yhwach sleeps |
| Future sight and scope | Sees the future on track to unfold | Can see multiple possible futures, according to the cited character reference |
| Changing the future | Cannot alter it with his version | The cited reference attributes future-altering ability to Yhwach |
| Signature Schrift | B: The Balance | Not stated in the cited character reference as a comparable signature power for this comparison |
These distinctions show why Yhwach’s Almighty is described as broader, while Haschwalth’s own threat rests chiefly on The Balance and its interaction with Freund Schild. The comparison concerns specific abilities and access, not a claim that one character wins every possible confrontation.
What is Haschwalth’s rank, and is it a power?
Haschwalth is identified as the Sternritter Grandmaster and Yhwach’s Imperial Adviser. Those are roles and ranks, not separate supernatural abilities. His Schrift is B: The Balance; his temporary access to The Almighty is a distinct power-sharing circumstance.

Which version of the story does this explanation cover?
The power distinctions above follow the manga-based account summarized in the secondary character reference, rather than asserting that every detail has been independently confirmed in the anime adaptation. VIZ lists the Thousand-Year Blood War anime and describes its final part as the final battle, but adaptations can add or handle details differently. For the licensed manga and official series information, see VIZ’s Bleach page, the Shonen Jump series page, and Shueisha’s Volume 73 listing. VIZ currently describes the final anime battle as available on Hulu on Disney+; viewing availability can vary by territory and change, so check the current listing in your region.
