StreamNeo is the best fit when you want a prerecorded YouTube channel to run continuously from the cloud with no computer left on, any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and a first day free. For overlay-led broadcasts, compare the kind of branding you need: a static logo or frame is not the same as an overlay that reacts to viewers. YouTube’s verified encoder directory also lists Gyre for continuous prerecorded streams and Restream as a verified encoder, but current overlay controls, plan limits and prices should be confirmed directly with each provider.
What to compare in a 24/7 YouTube service
A continuous YouTube broadcast needs a way to send video to YouTube: either a local encoder running on a computer or a cloud playout service that handles playback remotely. YouTube explains that an encoder converts video into a digital format for streaming and provides the stream URL and key through Live Control Room. YouTube’s encoder guide lists compatible services, including Gyre and Restream.
Before choosing a service, decide which job the overlay must do and check how the platform handles long-running playback. The available feature descriptions are not equivalent independent tests, and this comparison does not establish current vendor pricing or every plan limit.
- Playback: Can it loop a playlist continuously, and can you schedule or change what plays?
- Overlay type: Does it support static branding such as logos and frames, or interactive elements that respond to viewers?
- Operation: Must a computer stay on? What monitoring, restart or recovery behavior is documented?
- Limits: What are the maximum uninterrupted stream duration, storage and upload allowances?
- Output: Does it send to YouTube only or support other destinations? Confirm the exact destinations you need.
- Cost: Compare the full plan cost against the duration and storage you actually need, not just a starting rate.
Services and approaches to shortlist
| Option | What is established | Overlay evidence and caveats |
|---|---|---|
| StreamNeo | Cloud service for looping uploaded videos and playlists on YouTube; the computer can be off. Each slot includes 10 GB storage, pooled across active slots, and automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream. | Use the uploaded video as made, up to 4K 60fps. The available product facts do not establish custom or interactive overlay controls; add branding to the video before upload if it must appear in the stream. |
| Gyre | YouTube’s verified encoder directory describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 prerecorded-video streaming. | Specific overlay controls and current plan limits are not established here. |
| LiveReacting | A vendor-authored 2026 comparison describes playlist streaming and custom branding. | The comparison also describes audience-triggered overlays. This is the vendor’s account, not an independent test; verify feature availability by plan. |
| Upstream | A vendor-authored comparison describes continuous streaming. | It reports branded graphics, which should not be assumed to mean interactive overlays. Verify current capabilities with the provider. |
| Restream | YouTube lists Restream as a verified live encoder. | A vendor-authored competitor comparison reports a 40-hour limit for its 24/7 playout use case; confirm that limit with Restream before relying on it. Specific overlay controls are not established here. |
| OBS or another local encoder | YouTube supports encoder workflows, which can give creators production control. | Overlay possibilities depend on your encoder setup. A local setup requires operational care and a computer that stays on; hardware requirements and uptime were not established here. |
For a prerecorded channel that should keep playing without a home computer, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it runs continuously from the cloud, accepts video up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. If interactive overlays are the deciding requirement, compare LiveReacting’s vendor-described viewer-triggered features against your exact needs and confirm them directly before subscribing.

What “custom overlays” can mean
Static branding
A logo, lower third or branded frame is part of the video image. One straightforward approach is to render that graphic into the video before uploading it. That works with a playout service that sends the uploaded file as-is, but the graphic will not change independently while the video plays.
Interactive overlays
An interactive overlay changes in response to a viewer action or another live input. The vendor-authored comparison describes LiveReacting as offering audience-triggered overlays; it describes Upstream as offering branded graphics, which is not enough to conclude that its graphics are interactive. Ask each provider to demonstrate the exact interaction and identify which plan includes it.

Overlay support is not the same as continuous playback
A platform can offer graphics yet still have limits on playlist handling, stream length, recovery or computer requirements. Confirm those separately. Conversely, a cloud service that loops videos reliably may not provide a separate overlay editor; prepare branding in the source video if that suits your format.
Set up the YouTube side safely
- Enable live streaming and create the broadcast in YouTube Studio’s Live Control Room. Follow YouTube’s current eligibility and setup prompts for the channel.
- Choose the encoder or cloud service and create the scheduled stream or live broadcast as appropriate. Use the stream URL and stream key shown in Live Control Room.
- Enter the connection details in the chosen service. Keep the stream key private: it is the credential that lets an encoder send a feed to your YouTube channel. If it is exposed, replace or reset it in YouTube Studio and update the service.
- Check the preview before going live. Confirm the correct video, audio, branding, aspect ratio and destination. For an interactive overlay, test the trigger and its appearance before leaving the stream unattended.
- Monitor the live control room and service status after launch, especially during initial setup or when changing a playlist. Confirm that the stream is receiving video and audio rather than assuming that a connected service guarantees a healthy broadcast.

Plan around YouTube’s 12-hour archive and DVR limits
YouTube says streams shorter than 12 hours can be automatically archived, and warns that a stream longer than 12 hours may not be captured at all. If a replay is important, arrange a separate recording or archive workflow rather than treating the live stream itself as a guaranteed recording. YouTube’s archive guidance covers the limitation.
DVR rewind is a separate concern from whether the service stays online. YouTube says DVR may be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours; check the behavior relevant to the broadcast before relying on viewers being able to rewind. See Turn on DVR on live streams.

Copyright and monetization for a continuous channel
Clear rights for the entire stream
YouTube’s livestream terms require providers to have the necessary rights for their live content, including music licensing rights. A video file being available to upload does not establish that you have permission to broadcast it continuously, use its music, or stream it in every territory. Clear the rights for each item in the playlist and the intended use before going live. See YouTube’s livestream terms and conditions.
Automation and overlays do not ensure monetization
YouTube’s channel monetization policies say repetitive or mass-produced content can be ineligible and call for original, authentic value. A 24/7 schedule, changing graphics or automation does not guarantee approval; YouTube reviews channels under its policies. Consider whether the broadcast adds meaningful original value rather than simply repeating material. See YouTube channel monetization policies.

Ads and other live monetization
YouTube identifies ads, Super Chat and Super Stickers, and memberships as possible live-stream monetization features, subject to eligibility and settings; ad slots are not guaranteed to serve. YouTube also reported that creators who selected live automatic mid-roll ads averaged over 20% higher in-stream ad revenue per hour than channels without the feature across 207 countries in January 2024. That is a platform-reported comparison for that period, not a forecast for an individual channel. Details are in YouTube’s live-stream monetization guidance.

Troubleshooting a 24/7 broadcast
- YouTube shows no incoming video: Check that the stream URL and key match the intended broadcast, that the key was not reset, and that the service is connected to the correct channel. Update the service after replacing an exposed or invalid key.
- The stream appears live but has no sound: Check the source file’s audio track and the service preview or monitoring page; verify audio before leaving the broadcast running.
- Branding is missing or misplaced: If the graphic is baked into the uploaded video, inspect the source and framing. If it is a separate overlay, verify that the selected service and plan support that overlay type and that its source or trigger is active.
- A long stream has no replay: A stream exceeding 12 hours may not be captured by YouTube. Use a separate recording or archive plan when preserving the full broadcast matters.
- Viewers cannot rewind far enough: DVR is distinct from stream uptime and may be limited or unavailable beyond 12 hours; do not promise rewind for a long-running stream.
- A channel’s monetization is rejected or limited: Review YouTube’s channel-level policies and the originality of the programming. Continuous playback and overlays do not establish eligibility.
