The best video conferencing software for live streaming depends on whether you need a two-way webinar or meeting, a browser studio for guest interviews, or an organization-controlled event using an encoder. For webinar-centered events, consider Zoom Webinars or Zoom Events; for browser-based interviews and social multistreaming, StreamYard; for Microsoft 365 organizational events, Teams live events; and for recording-led productions with webinar tools, Riverside. These are workflow matches, not a tested ranking.
First, distinguish conferencing from live production
“Live streaming software” can mean software where attendees join a meeting or webinar, a production studio that puts guests on screen and sends a program to social platforms, or an encoder workflow that feeds a hosted event. These options overlap, but they are not interchangeable. Choose based on where viewers will watch, how they will participate, how the show will be produced, and what you need to retain afterward.
- Choose a webinar or conferencing platform when registration, attendee access, interaction, or an event experience is central.
- Choose a browser production studio when bringing guests on screen and broadcasting to several destinations is central.
- Choose an encoder-based event workflow when a separate software or hardware encoder will supply the production feed, often within an existing organizational environment.
The feature descriptions below come from vendor product and support documentation accessed October 3, 2026. They are not independent tests; they do not establish comparative reliability, latency, or image quality.
Which software fits each live-streaming workflow?
Zoom Webinars or Zoom Events: webinar-centered productions
Consider Zoom when you want Zoom’s event workflow and may want to send a scene from third-party production software into a webinar. Zoom documents an incoming RTMP option for its single-session lite Livestream flow, which lets compatible external streaming software provide the scene. The Zoom app must be version 6.2.0 or higher for this incoming-RTMP workflow, according to Zoom’s support documentation accessed October 3, 2026. Check that the specific event format and plan you intend to buy support the workflow; “livestream” can refer to different input and output paths.
#1 Best Overall
- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
Zoom is a fit to investigate when the event itself is the center of the production. If you plan to use a separate encoder, verify how it connects to the selected webinar format rather than assuming every Zoom event accepts the same input.
StreamYard: browser-based guest interviews and social multistreaming
Consider StreamYard for a browser-based production with guests and multiple social destinations. Its official feature page describes streaming to Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Twitch, and other destinations; separate local audio and video recordings saved on participants’ devices; and On-Air as a webinar platform that can be embedded on a website. These are vendor-described capabilities, not independent quality findings. Review the current plan page for which features are included in the plan you need.

This workflow is distinct from a conventional meeting: the production studio is designed to stage a program and send it outward. If your priority is a 24/7 YouTube channel playing pre-recorded videos rather than a hosted event with guests, see the cloud option below.
Microsoft Teams live events: organizational events with an encoder
Consider Teams live events if your organization already works in Microsoft 365 and needs an organizationally controlled event produced with an external encoder. Microsoft’s guidance describes encoder production using RTMP-capable hardware or software. Microsoft Learn says the service can receive a single-bitrate RTMP or RTMPS encoder stream and transcode it for adaptive-bitrate delivery. After an event, Microsoft documents availability of speech-to-text, captions, transcript search, and time codes.

Teams live-event creation has eligibility requirements. Microsoft Support’s guidance accessed October 3, 2026 lists Office 365 Enterprise E1, E3, or E5, or Office 365 A3 or A5 licensing, admin permission, and full team membership among creator requirements. Licensing and tenant configuration can change, so confirm them with your Microsoft 365 administrator before designing the event around this option.
Riverside: recording and live production together
Consider Riverside when recording is as important as the live production. Riverside’s pricing page distinguishes Grow, which includes live streaming and multistreaming, from its Webinar plan, which adds audience registration, Q&A, polls, automated reminder emails, HubSpot integration, and webinar analytics. Riverside states that at least the Webinar plan is needed for those webinar functions. Confirm current plan details on its pricing page before choosing, since included features and prices can change.

How to choose: a practical checklist
- Decide where the audience will watch. Is the destination a social platform, an embedded webinar, an on-demand replay, or a permissioned organizational event?
- Map the production path. Identify whether you need a built-in browser studio, a meeting or webinar app, or a separate hardware or software encoder. Check whether the workflow needs RTMP input to the event platform, RTMP output to a destination, or both.
- List audience interactions. Decide whether you need registration, moderated Q&A, polls, chat, attendee reports, or access controls. Do not assume every live-stream feature includes these webinar functions.
- Plan the guest workflow. Check how guests join, who controls the production, and whether you need separate local recordings of participants.
- Specify what happens to the recording. Determine whether local or cloud recording, replay, transcript, captions, search, or editing is required after the live event.
- Verify eligibility and scale. Confirm current audience limits, app version, account plan, tenant settings, licenses, and administrator permissions for the exact event format. Do not infer a limit from a different product tier or event type.
- Check ecosystem and cost. Compare current plan terms against your existing tools, such as Microsoft 365 or a CRM. Feature bundles and prices change; check the vendor’s live plan page before purchase.
If your goal is a 24/7 YouTube channel, use a different kind of tool
Conference and webinar platforms are built for hosted events; keeping a channel live around the clock with uploaded videos is a different job. StreamNeo is a cloud service for YouTube: upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. It loops uploaded video from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not have to stay on. It does not broadcast from a camera or stream to other platforms.
Each slot includes one always-on stream, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, 24/7 looping and playlists, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and StreamNeo team support. Uploaded video streams as made, up to 4K 60fps, at one flat price per slot; there are no quality tiers. The first day is free with no card, with one free day per account. Billing options are a day, a week, a month, six months, or a year, with cancellation any time. UPI and cards are accepted in India; card checkout is available worldwide. Contact support for five or more slots.
