For most creators, YouTube Studio is the simplest way to upload videos in batches: select up to 15 videos at a time, then set each video’s details and choose when it becomes visible. For mobile uploads or managed libraries, Vimeo has bulk workflows; Vimeo OTT is designed for subscription and rental catalogs; and SproutVideo queues multiple files for sequential upload. The right choice depends on whether you need YouTube publishing, library management, or a paid video service.
Which service should you use?

These are different workflows, not interchangeable versions of one feature. YouTube Studio is the direct route for ordinary YouTube publishing. Vimeo and SproutVideo are hosted video-library options, while Vimeo OTT adds a paid-catalog model. Content Manager is for eligible partners, not a switch available to every channel.
Upload several videos to YouTube Studio
YouTube Help’s desktop instructions say you can upload up to 15 videos at a time. Multi-select makes it possible to start several uploads together, but it does not fill in every video’s metadata for you, publish them all immediately, or bypass YouTube’s daily upload limit.
- Open YouTube Studio’s computer upload workflow and select Create, then Upload videos.
- Select up to 15 video files from your computer. Check that the intended files are selected before starting the upload.
- Edit each video’s details individually, including the title and other information YouTube requests. Review the audience and visibility settings for each file.
- Choose whether to publish now, keep the video private, or schedule it for later. Uploading imports the file; publishing makes it available to viewers.
- Leave the upload workflow open until you have set visibility. YouTube says that if you close the upload window before choosing visibility, the video is saved as private.
Higher-resolution HD and 4K videos may take longer to process. YouTube says processing time can vary with quality, length, format, and traffic, so an upload finishing does not necessarily mean every playback resolution is ready.

YouTube also applies a daily upload limit across desktop, mobile, and API uploads. The cited help guidance does not specify a universal number for that limit, so selecting 15 files in one session should not be treated as a guarantee that the channel can upload an unlimited number each day.
When YouTube Content Manager is the right bulk-upload route
For rights holders and distributors managing many assets, YouTube describes a separate workflow in Choose an upload method. The basic Upload page is intended for partners with a few videos and does not provide batch processing or CMS integration.
Package Uploader and metadata spreadsheets
Eligible Content Manager partners can use Package Uploader to deliver batches of video and sound-recording assets alongside a spreadsheet containing metadata, with one row per asset. The guide describes an option to pre-validate the spreadsheet, which can help catch metadata problems before delivery. Music labels delivering Art Tracks may use an Art Track spreadsheet or DDEX.

SFTP or Aspera for regular high-volume delivery
YouTube describes SFTP or Aspera for partners regularly delivering more than 100 assets a month. Its guide says Aspera is faster and preferable for large media files. This threshold describes the partner workflow in YouTube’s guide; it is not a public eligibility guarantee or an upload quota for ordinary channel owners.
Vimeo: mobile bulk uploads and cloud sources
Vimeo’s mobile-app bulk upload guidance says the Android and iOS apps let users select multiple videos, assign them to a new or existing folder, and choose privacy settings for the batch. Vimeo says this feature is included with all plans. The mobile library also supports bulk actions such as moving, deleting, and renaming videos; uploaded videos count toward the account’s storage capacity.
For desktop and other workflows, Vimeo’s upload preparation guidance lists Dropbox, Google Drive, and Box as cloud upload options. It recommends common formats such as MP4 and MOV, advises keeping individual files under 200 GB for successful uploads, and says videos longer than 24 hours are not supported. The under-200-GB figure is per-file guidance, not a batch-size limit.

Vimeo also offers a YouTube integration for sharing Vimeo content to YouTube. The integration information describes single-click sharing; it does not establish that uploading a batch to Vimeo automatically batch-publishes every video to YouTube.
Vimeo OTT: batch uploading a paid video catalog
Vimeo OTT’s upload guidance supports drag-and-drop batches from a computer up to 250 GB per batch, or Dropbox batches up to 50 GB. These are separate limits based on upload source, not Vimeo’s general per-file guidance. The interface lets you track upload and transcoding progress and sends an email when processing finishes.

For large libraries, Vimeo OTT lists supported import routes such as Amazon S3, Cyberduck, or Transmit. It does not accept physical media, and its help page advises contacting an account manager or sales for bulk uploading. Pricing depends on uploaded video hours, so check current plan details directly rather than relying on an old quoted price.

Its help article, last updated March 24, 2023, does not state a numeric queue limit; confirm current behavior in the product if a specific limit matters to your workflow.
Choose by the job you need done
- Publish a batch to YouTube: Use YouTube Studio’s desktop multi-select, then review details and visibility on every video.
- Upload from a phone and organize a Vimeo library: Use Vimeo’s mobile bulk selection, folders, and privacy controls.
- Move files from cloud storage into Vimeo: Check Vimeo’s supported Dropbox, Google Drive, and Box options, as well as storage capacity and per-file guidance.
- Sell a curated video catalog: Consider Vimeo OTT if subscriptions or individual purchases and rentals are the distribution model you want.
- Deliver a large rights-managed catalog to YouTube: Ask about Content Manager access; Package Uploader, spreadsheets, SFTP, and Aspera are partner workflows.
- Start several uploads but let them process in sequence: SproutVideo documents a one-at-a-time queue, without publishing a numeric queue limit.
