The best cloud service depends on whether you want a managed tool to loop prerecorded videos or a custom media pipeline your team configures. For a straightforward YouTube station built from uploaded videos, StreamNeo is the first option to consider: it runs from the cloud, supports any uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day. For a more technical managed-service comparison, YouTube’s encoder directory lists Gyre and Upstream; Google Cloud Live Stream API is infrastructure for teams prepared to build and operate their own pipeline.
Which kind of cloud service does a YouTube radio station need?
A 24/7 YouTube radio station usually plays prerecorded material—often music or spoken-word programming—with a visual component. The service must keep sending the stream even when your own computer is off. Two broad approaches meet different needs:
- Managed cloud streaming: A provider supplies a creator-facing workflow for sending prerecorded material continuously. You configure the content and YouTube stream connection rather than assembling media infrastructure yourself.
- Custom cloud media infrastructure: You configure and maintain inputs, channels, outputs, storage, and monitoring. This can offer flexibility, but it is not the same as buying a ready-made radio scheduler.
YouTube’s encoder setup documentation describes a server URL and stream key workflow and lists cloud services including Gyre and Upstream. Google Cloud Live Stream API, by contrast, accepts an input endpoint, transcodes live input to HLS or DASH, and can integrate with Cloud Storage. YouTube’s encoder setup guide and Google’s Live Stream API overview describe those respective roles.
Best cloud services to consider
1. StreamNeo — straightforward cloud looping of uploaded videos
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded recordings or a playlist. Upload a video or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live; StreamNeo loops the content from the cloud, so your computer and home connection do not need to remain on. It is the first option to try for a creator who wants a managed prerecorded stream rather than a custom infrastructure project.

- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
- One flat price per slot regardless of uploaded quality, up to 4K 60fps; videos stream as uploaded, without re-encoding or quality tiers.
- One always-on stream per slot, 24/7 looping and playlists, 10 GB of storage per slot pooled across active slots, automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream, and support from the StreamNeo team.
- First day free with no card, one free day per account. Billing terms are available by day, week, month, six months, or year; cancel any time. UPI and cards are accepted in India, and card checkout is available worldwide. Contact support for five or more slots.
All plans include the same product; only the billing period changes. See StreamNeo for details.
2. Gyre — managed cloud option listed for prerecorded 24/7 streams
YouTube’s verified encoder listing describes Gyre as a cloud-based tool for 24/7 live streaming of prerecorded videos. That makes it a relevant managed-service candidate for a station that wants to stream existing recordings. The listing alone does not establish current pricing, uptime, playlist controls, archive handling, supported audio-only workflow, or whether it is the right fit for your station. Confirm those details with the provider before committing. YouTube’s encoder listing is the basis for its stated use case.

- What You Get: Anker USB-C Hub (5-in-1, 4K HDMI), welcome guide, 18-month warranty, and our friendly customer service.
3. Upstream — browser-based cloud studio candidate
YouTube’s verified encoder listing describes Upstream as a cloud studio for 24/7 live video streaming. It is another managed option to investigate, but the listing does not settle whether its workflow suits an audio-led radio station, how playlist changes are handled, or what the current limits and service terms are. Verify those specifics directly with the provider and in YouTube’s encoder documentation.
4. Google Cloud Live Stream API — custom pipeline for technical teams
Google Cloud Live Stream API is a building block for a custom streaming system, not a turnkey YouTube radio scheduler. Google documents an input endpoint, transcoding to HLS or DASH output, and Cloud Storage integration. A team must design the surrounding workflow—including content delivery, YouTube broadcast management, monitoring, and restart behavior—rather than expecting a creator studio’s playlist controls. See the API overview and Google’s YouTube Live Streaming API overview.

Compare the options against your station’s needs
| Decision | Managed services | Custom Google Cloud pipeline |
|---|---|---|
| Setup and operation | StreamNeo provides upload or playlist, stream-key, and go-live steps. For Gyre and Upstream, confirm their current setup and playlist controls directly; YouTube’s listing identifies their broad cloud use cases. | Configure the input, channel, output formats, storage integration, and operating workflow. |
| Continuous running and recovery | StreamNeo says it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. Recovery behavior, alerting, and support terms for Gyre and Upstream are not stated in YouTube’s listing. | Plan monitoring and restart handling. Google documents that an active Live Stream API channel may need a restart after its 24-hour session duration. |
| Playlist and station workflow | Check that the service supports your audio, visuals, playlist updates, scheduling, and control requirements. StreamNeo supports uploaded videos and playlists. | Build the scheduling and media workflow that your station requires; the API documentation does not describe a turnkey radio playlist scheduler. |
| Archive | YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Decide separately how to preserve longer continuous programming, and confirm each provider’s archive features. | Google documents live-to-VOD capability and Cloud Storage output, but confirm the specific end-to-end archive workflow you plan to implement. |
| Price and service assurances | StreamNeo publishes its plans on its pricing page. Current Gyre and Upstream rates, limits, and service commitments are not stated in YouTube’s listing; obtain them from each provider. | Obtain current Google Cloud pricing, quotas, and regional availability before estimating operating cost. |
What to verify before choosing
Provider descriptions do not answer every operational question. Ask each shortlisted provider for details that apply to your planned stream, and check the terms that govern your YouTube channel.
- Capacity and cost: Confirm current plan price and billing unit, included stream hours, resolution and bitrate caps, and how extra channels or usage are charged. Estimate cost at your expected quality and continuous runtime rather than comparing headline prices alone.
- Content workflow: Confirm support for audio-led programming, static visuals if needed, playlist scheduling, adding or replacing recordings, and the number of simultaneous channels.
- Resilience and support: Ask what happens after a dropped YouTube connection, whether restarts are automatic, how you are alerted to failures, and what support response terms apply. Do not infer uptime commitments from a directory listing.
- Access and archives: Check how stream keys or API access are handled, whether archives are included, and how you will retain streams that exceed YouTube’s automatic-archive threshold.
- Availability and terms: Confirm service availability in your region, current quotas, applicable terms, and any service-level commitments with the provider.
Protect the station’s music and video rights
Choosing a cloud host does not grant permission to broadcast the material you upload. YouTube’s livestream terms require the provider to hold necessary rights for worldwide exploitation on Google services, including music licensing rights, and to meet applicable regulatory requirements. YouTube also states: “The Live Content must comply with the YouTube Community Guidelines.” Review the YouTube livestream terms and conditions and confirm that your licenses cover live transmission, the territories involved, and any archive or replay use. Rights can differ by territory and content.

Plan around YouTube’s live-stream limits
First-time activation
YouTube says enabling live streaming for the first time can take up to 24 hours. Activate it well before the station’s intended launch, then confirm that the channel can create a live stream in YouTube Studio. This is a YouTube activation window, not a cloud provider’s setup guarantee. YouTube’s encoder setup guide explains the process.
Streams and archives under 12 hours
YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume the same automatic archive behavior for longer continuous streams. If you need a complete recording, arrange separate archive handling and test it with your chosen workflow before relying on it.

Google Cloud Live Stream API sessions
Google documents that Live Stream API sessions last 24 hours after a channel starts; after 24 hours in an active streaming state, the channel may be restarted. An around-the-clock design using the API therefore needs monitoring and a plan for restarting without leaving the station unattended. See Google Cloud’s quotas and limits. This is a documented API session limit, not an industry-wide streaming benchmark.
