Outbyte Driver Updater FREEFix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →For a self-managed India VPS, Plex Scale’s listed Mumbai 8 GB tier is the lowest apparent-cost option in this shortlist, but its 3 TB monthly transfer allowance leaves little room for a continuous 720p30 stream. VyomCloud lists more bandwidth at a higher monthly price; Endercloud’s listed 2 TB is below the estimated video payload alone. None of these listings has been independently tested for sustained streaming performance. If you would rather not administer a server, StreamNeo is the managed alternative to consider first: it loops uploaded video from the cloud, supports the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one flat price per slot, and offers a free first day.
What matters most when choosing a VPS for a 24/7 stream
For an always-on broadcast, monthly data transfer can be a tighter constraint than CPU or RAM. YouTube recommends an 8 Mbps H.264 ingestion bitrate for both 720p30 and 720p60. At a constant 8 Mbps, video alone sends approximately 2.59 TB (decimal) over a 30-day month. That is a calculation from bitrate and duration, not a YouTube-published quota figure; it excludes audio and protocol overhead. YouTube’s encoder guidance lists the bitrate, while its streaming tips recommend 20% upload-bandwidth headroom.
Budget for total stream bitrate, not video alone, and leave room for overhead and variation. A listed monthly traffic pool is not the same as an advertised port speed: a 1 Gbps port does not mean unlimited monthly transfer. Confirm how the provider counts traffic, whether overages or throttling apply, and what the renewal price will be.
Relay or transcode?
If the VPS forwards an already encoded file stream without changing it, the plan’s vCPU count is not an encoding-performance benchmark. If you continuously transcode or re-encode, compute requirements rise and depend on the particular workload. No provider in this shortlist has an independent FFmpeg benchmark for this use case. Choose the resolution and bitrate first, then verify that the server can handle the job you actually intend to run.

Check the location and operating terms
The provider pages below identify Mumbai hosting, but region labels and advertised port speeds do not establish sustained throughput. Before paying, verify the available location, traffic accounting, renewal total, applicable taxes, support terms, and what happens when a stream disconnects. A seller’s stated service-level agreement is not an independent measurement of YouTube stream reliability.

| Option | Listed plan and details | What it means for a continuous stream |
|---|---|---|
| Plex Scale | India/Mumbai 8 GB entry tier: 2 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 80 GB NVMe, 3 TB bandwidth. Its result page showed a promotional ₹399/month figure; confirm the price and renewal at checkout. | Lowest apparent price among these listings. The 3 TB allowance is only modestly above the estimated 2.59 TB video payload for 720p30 at 8 Mbps, before audio, overhead, and safety margin. A possible relay-only fit, not a proven recommendation. |
| VyomCloud | GPC.SMALL: ₹1,600/month listed; 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 80 GB storage, 5 TB traffic, 250 Mbps shown, root access, and a stated 99.5% uptime SLA. | More listed transfer headroom than the other general-purpose options here, at a higher listed monthly cost. The SLA is the seller’s claim, not an independent stream-reliability test. |
| Endercloud | INDIA-VPS-8GB, starting ₹999/month listed: 3 vCore, 8 GB ECC RAM, 50 GB NVMe, 2 TB at 1 Gbps; Mumbai. | The listed 2 TB is below the estimated video payload for the 720p30 example, before audio and overhead. |
| NivoHost specialist stream tier | RDP 3: ₹1,799/month listed; seller lists 720p30, 2 stream handles, 20 TB bandwidth, 8 CPU cores, 16 GB RAM, and 160 GB SSD. | A specialist listing may simplify setup, but verify what “stream handles” means, which term and resolution the listing covers, and whether the plan fits your needs. These are seller-listed specifications, not independently measured results. |
Plan pages: Plex Scale, VyomCloud, Endercloud, and NivoHost. NivoHost also lists ₹699/month for a 360p10 tier and ₹999/month for 480p15; those lower-resolution listings are not like-for-like comparisons with a 720p plan.
How to estimate the bandwidth you need
- Choose the target stream bitrate. Use YouTube’s current encoder guidance for your resolution and frame rate. For H.264, YouTube recommends 8 Mbps for 720p30 and 720p60.
- Calculate video transfer for 30 days. Multiply total stream bitrate in Mbps by 2,592,000 seconds, then divide by 8 to get decimal megabytes for a 30-day month. At 8 Mbps, this is about 2,592,000 MB, or 2.592 TB of video payload.
- Add audio and overhead. YouTube recommends 128 kbps stereo audio. Include it in the bitrate estimate along with protocol overhead and any safety margin; the 2.59 TB figure above is video-only.
- Compare with the provider’s traffic definition. Check whether quoted TB is decimal or another convention, how inbound and outbound traffic are counted, and what happens at the quota limit.
- Leave headroom. YouTube recommends 20% available upload-bandwidth room above the total bitrate. Do not assume that a nominal port speed guarantees that capacity continuously.
At 8 Mbps, the Plex Scale listing’s 3 TB looks close on paper, but its margin is not comfortable once audio and overhead are included. VyomCloud’s listed 5 TB gives more quota room, while Endercloud’s 2 TB falls short of the video-only illustration. Actual network performance and accounting need confirmation with the provider.

Set up the VPS and YouTube stream safely
A VPS is a self-managed server: you must configure the encoder or relay process, keep it supervised, and plan for reconnects and YouTube session limits. YouTube’s setup guide explains adding the server URL and stream key to an encoder, and says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived. Do not assume that a single session is guaranteed to run forever. YouTube’s encoder setup guide covers the connection workflow.
- Prepare the server and media. Confirm that the chosen VPS has enough storage for the uploaded video and enough monthly transfer for the full stream. Decide whether you are relaying an already encoded file or transcoding it; the latter needs workload-specific compute capacity.
- Configure the encoder output. YouTube’s encoder guidance supports RTMP/RTMPS and H.264, H.265, or AV1. For H.264, use CBR, up to 60 fps, and a two-second keyframe interval (no more than four seconds); YouTube recommends 128 kbps stereo audio. Select settings compatible with the source and your target quality.
- Connect with the server URL and stream key. Enter the values shown in YouTube’s live setup in your encoder. Treat the key as a password: keep it out of public scripts and logs, and rotate it if you believe it was exposed.
- Test and inspect stream health. YouTube recommends testing before going live with audio and movement similar to the real stream, then monitoring stream health. It also recommends RTMPS, which encrypts data in transit to and through Google’s servers. See YouTube’s encoder settings.
- Plan supervision and recovery. Arrange for the encoder process to restart after a crash, check that the media remains available, monitor whether YouTube is receiving the stream, and make an operator plan for session restarts. A VPS listing alone cannot guarantee continuous uptime.
Costs and the managed alternative
Compare total cost, not headline rent
For a self-managed VPS, consider the listed recurring price alongside transfer quota, renewal terms, taxes, overages, storage, administration time, and recovery work. If you need to re-encode, also verify performance for that workload rather than relying on advertised vCPU counts. The provider listings above are claims to confirm at checkout; none establishes tested sustained throughput or a provider-neutral uptime result.

Or let it run in the cloud
If your goal is simply to keep uploaded prerecorded video looping on YouTube, StreamNeo is a managed service rather than a general-purpose VPS. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key once, and go live. Nothing has to stay on at home; it streams the uploaded quality up to 4K 60fps at one price per slot, and it automatically recovers if YouTube drops the stream. The first day is free with no card. Monthly pricing is $9.99 per month. Details are at StreamNeo; start your free first day.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.Common problems and what to check
- The stream stops when the monthly quota runs out: Recalculate using total bitrate, including audio and overhead, and confirm how the provider accounts for traffic and handles quota exhaustion.
- The VPS has a fast advertised port but the stream is unstable: A port-speed listing is not proof of sustained throughput. Check available bandwidth with the provider and monitor YouTube stream health during a realistic test.
- The server struggles while encoding: A relay and a transcode are different workloads. If changing the media’s codec, resolution, or bitrate on the VPS, verify compute capacity for that exact job; no independent FFmpeg benchmark is available for these listings.
- YouTube does not receive the stream: Check that the correct server URL and stream key are configured, confirm the chosen protocol and encoder settings, and inspect YouTube’s stream-health status.
- The stream disconnects or the session ends: Confirm reconnect behavior, supervise the encoder process, and plan for monitoring and session restarts. YouTube says streams under 12 hours are automatically archived; a VPS does not remove the need for an operator plan.
- The stream is flagged or cannot be monetized: Only stream material you have the rights to use, including music, footage, and any third-party content. YouTube’s technical encoder guidance does not establish that a stream complies with its copyright or monetization policies; check the rules that apply to your channel and content before broadcasting.
Which option should you choose?
- Choose a managed cloud loop first if you do not want to administer a VPS: StreamNeo is built for looping uploaded video to YouTube, runs without a home computer, and has a free first day.
- Consider Plex Scale if minimizing listed VPS rent is the priority: Its apparent promotional price is lowest in this shortlist, but its 3 TB allowance is a narrow fit for the 720p30 example and must be verified.
- Consider VyomCloud if listed transfer headroom matters more: Its 5 TB traffic listing is roomier, with a higher stated monthly cost; verify renewal and service terms.
- Do not select Endercloud’s listed 2 TB plan for the 8 Mbps example without changing the bitrate or obtaining a different quota: the video payload estimate alone exceeds that allowance.
- Evaluate NivoHost’s specialist tier if its listed stream-oriented terms suit your setup: Confirm resolution, handles, traffic, and price directly; the listing is not a performance test.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a Mumbai VPS guarantee that viewers will get a smooth stream?
No. A listed region and port speed do not establish sustained throughput or viewer playback quality; test the actual setup and monitor YouTube stream health.
