There is no like-for-like independent test here of these models’ movement noise, joint feel, long-term sag, durability, or value. Treat the shortlist as a way to compare geometry and stated features, not proof that one arm performs best for every streamer.
Measure the space and load before choosing
Check the arm’s path, not just its height
Measure from the desktop to the bottom of your monitor, then consider the full route the arm must take from its clamp to the microphone position. Elgato lists the Wave Mic Arm LP at about 160 mm (6.3 inches) above the desk at its highest point. Compare that measurement with your actual monitor gap; it does not, by itself, establish that the arm will fit every desk-and-monitor arrangement.
Also check where the microphone will sit when you are speaking. An arm that clears the monitor at rest may still cross the screen, camera view, or your face when moved into position. Decide whether you need a low horizontal route or a raised, articulated one with extra reach.

Weigh the complete mounted setup
Use the combined weight of the microphone, shock mount, adapter, and any other attached hardware—not the microphone’s weight alone. The LP’s listed capacity is up to 2 kg / 4.4 lb. For the other arms, confirm the current manufacturer specification instead of assuming their capacity from appearance or from another model in the same product line.
Compatibility can depend on the exact microphone and mounting hardware. Elgato’s LP page lists several examples and includes 3/8-inch and 5/8-inch adapters, but verify the thread on your particular microphone or shock mount before ordering.

Confirm how the arm attaches to your desk
Check desk thickness, the shape and free space around its edge, and whether a clamp can sit securely without obstructing drawers or other equipment. RØDE says the PSA1+ includes both a padded desk clamp and a threaded desk mount. A threaded mount may require a suitable opening in the desk; check the current product instructions and your desk before choosing that method.
What to check for a Shure microphone
“Shure” alone is not enough to establish compatibility: the exact microphone, shock mount, thread, and total weight matter. Elgato lists the Shure SM7B among LP compatibility examples, but confirm the current combination of mic, mount, adapters, and arm before purchasing. If you use a different Shure model, check its mounting requirements rather than assuming the SM7B example applies.

Elgato’s Wave:3 mounting guidance says a RØDE PSA1 may need additional weight to hold the desired height with that specific microphone setup. - Check whether the mic will obstruct your screen, camera framing, or speaking position.
