Important: the Black Friday streaming prices discussed here were temporary U.S. promotions that ended on December 1, 2025. They are historical offers, not current deals.
The two strongest standalone promotions were HBO Max Basic With Ads for $2.99 per month for the first 12 months and the ad-supported Disney+ and Hulu bundle for $4.99 per month for 12 months. Prime Video was a different story: Amazon promoted discounted Prime Video Channels and free sports programming, but no comparable general discount to the base Prime Video or Amazon Prime subscription was verified.
The best Black Friday 2025 streaming offers at a glance
| Service or route | Promotional price | Duration | Ads? | What to know |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| HBO Max Basic With Ads | $2.99/month | First 12 months | Yes | Available to eligible new and returning subscribers; the offer ended December 1, 2025. |
| Disney+ and Hulu bundle | $4.99/month | 12 months | Yes | Available to new and eligible returning subscribers; the offer ended December 1, 2025. |
| Prime Video Channels | Varied by channel | Varied | Varied | Discounted add-ons available through Prime Video, not a cut to the base Prime Video subscription. |
| Prime Video base service | No comparable general discount verified | Not applicable | Normal plan rules | Amazon’s event included free sports programming and channel promotions, but not a confirmed general Prime subscription price cut. |
The prices above were introductory rates. They should not be confused with the services’ current prices in 2026, and the regular prices cited in 2025 promotional coverage were prices in effect at that time.
HBO Max: $2.99 per month for the first year
HBO Max Basic With Ads was the clearest standalone streaming bargain of Black Friday 2025. Warner Bros. Discovery advertised the plan at $2.99 per month for the first 12 months, compared with the then-standard monthly price of $10.99. That represented a 70% reduction during the introductory period.

The promotion ran from November 24 through December 1, 2025. It was offered through HBO Max and participating platforms, including Apple, Google Play, Roku, Samsung, Xumo, selected partners and, for new HBO Max customers, Amazon Fire TV. Eligibility varied by platform, and the offer was aimed at eligible new and returning customers rather than every existing subscriber.
The plan was specifically Basic With Ads. The $2.99 rate did not buy an ad-free HBO Max tier, and it applied only during the first year. After the promotional period, the subscription was expected to move to the then-current regular rate unless the customer canceled or changed plans. Anyone claiming the deal today would therefore be misstating both its availability and its price.
What the HBO Max deal was best for
- One-service households: It was the strongest direct discount among the confirmed offers.
- Premium drama and film viewers: HBO Max was the more focused choice for viewers primarily seeking HBO and Warner Bros. programming.
- Ad-tolerant subscribers: The low price required accepting advertising and a later renewal decision.
Before subscribing to any similar future promotion, check whether you qualify as a new or returning customer, which billing platform processes the subscription, and the exact post-promotion renewal price.
Disney+ and Hulu: $4.99 per month for 12 months
The other major offer combined two services: Disney+ with Hulu for $4.99 per month for 12 months. The promotion was available to new and eligible returning subscribers and ended on December 1, 2025.

This was an ad-supported bundle, not the ad-free Disney+ and Hulu option. The cited regular price at the time was $12.99 per month. At the promotional rate, a full year cost $59.88 before taxes. At $12.99 per month, the comparable annual cost would have been $155.88, producing a nominal difference of approximately $96. Exact savings figures in contemporary coverage varied slightly because some sources rounded the comparison.

The bundle was arguably the better value for households wanting breadth rather than a single premium catalog. Disney+ supplied its family-oriented, franchise and general-entertainment library, while Hulu added a broader selection of television and other programming. The trade-off was the same one found in many Black Friday streaming offers: advertising during the promotional subscription and the need to review the renewal terms before the 12 months ended.
Who should have chosen the Disney+ and Hulu offer?
- Families: Two services provided more variety than a single-service promotion.
- Viewers who wanted both Disney+ and Hulu: The bundle avoided paying separately for the two subscriptions.
- Households comfortable with ads: The $4.99 rate was tied to the ad-supported tier.
It was not automatically the better deal for someone who wanted HBO Max’s specific catalog. The practical choice depended on whether the household valued two broader services or one premium-focused service.
Prime Video: discounted channels, not a general Prime Video price cut
Amazon’s Black Friday event ran from November 20 through December 1, 2025. Its official announcement highlighted shopping promotions and Prime Video programming, including 15 hours of live sports on November 28. That sports broadcast was available without requiring a Prime membership.
Amazon did not announce a general Black Friday reduction to the normal Prime Video or Amazon Prime subscription in the material reviewed for this article. This distinction matters: headlines describing “Prime Video deals” could refer to Prime Video Channels, which are optional subscriptions purchased through the Prime Video interface, rather than the base service itself.
Examples of Prime Video Channel promotions
Contemporary Black Friday coverage reported discounts across a large group of add-on channels, including HBO Max, Apple TV, MGM+, BritBox, Hallmark+, Starz and others. Reported examples included:

- HBO Max through Prime Video: $2.99 per month for the promotional period.
- Apple TV through Prime Video: $5.99 per month for six months.
These were examples, not universal terms. Channel availability, eligibility, introductory duration and renewal pricing varied by service and customer. A discounted HBO Max subscription purchased through Prime Video could also have different account-management rules from one purchased directly through HBO Max.
How to evaluate a Prime Video Channel offer
- Identify the product: Confirm that the offer is for a channel add-on, not for Prime Video itself.
- Check the introductory period: Some offers lasted 30 days, while others lasted several months or longer.
- Review the renewal price: The discounted channel rate was not necessarily the price after the promotion.
- Check billing and cancellation: A channel purchased through Amazon is generally managed through the Amazon account and Prime Video subscription settings.
- Compare direct and channel subscriptions: Consider whether you want the convenience of one marketplace or a direct relationship with the streaming service.
For existing Prime Video users, the channel marketplace was a useful secondary route to savings. It should not be described as a general Amazon Prime Black Friday subscription deal.

Best single-service bargain: HBO Max at $2.99
HBO Max offered the lowest confirmed monthly price for a standalone premium service and the clearest discount against its then-current regular price. The limitations were the ad-supported plan, the 12-month cap and eligibility requirements.
Best bundle: Disney+ and Hulu at $4.99
Disney+ and Hulu delivered two ad-supported services for $4.99 per month. It was the stronger household value when the viewer wanted variety across both catalogs rather than a specific HBO Max subscription.
Best option for existing Amazon users: discounted Prime Video Channels
Prime Video Channels made sense for customers who already used Amazon’s video interface and wanted a particular add-on. Because channel terms varied, there was no single Prime Video Channels price that could be applied to every customer.

- RECORD MULTIPLE SHOWS: 2 ATSC 1.0 tuners within the device allow you to record one live TV channel while watching another for viewing flexibility.
Best free-access angle: Amazon’s Black Friday sports broadcast
Amazon’s event also stood out for programming rather than subscription savings. The announced November 28 sports programming was available without a Prime membership, making it separate from the paid channel promotions.
What to check before signing up for a future Black Friday streaming deal
- Ads: Confirm whether the advertised price applies only to an ad-supported tier.
- Duration: Look for “first 12 months,” “six months” or another introductory period.
- Renewal: Record the date and expected regular price before completing enrollment.
- Eligibility: New, returning and currently subscribed customers may receive different offers.
- Billing platform: Direct subscriptions and subscriptions purchased through Apple, Google, Roku, Amazon or another platform may have different cancellation rules.
- Taxes and fees: Promotional prices generally do not include applicable taxes.
- Catalog fit: A low price is not a bargain if the household will not watch the service.
What to buy with a streaming subscription
A streaming device was not part of the HBO Max, Disney+ or Prime Video subscription promotions. However, viewers using an older television may need compatible hardware to access the apps conveniently. Amazon documented the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Plus (2025) as a streaming device released worldwide on October 31, 2025.
That device is a separate hardware purchase, not a way to claim any of the expired Black Friday subscription rates. It is relevant only for readers who need a streaming device or want to replace an older streaming stick. Check current device compatibility, pricing and app support before buying, since those details can change independently of streaming-service promotions.
Historical status of the offers
All of the specific promotions covered here ended on December 1, 2025: the HBO Max offer officially ended that Monday, the Disney+ and Hulu promotion was reported to end the same day, and Amazon’s Black Friday Week and Cyber Monday event concluded then as well.
As of August 11, 2026, the $2.99 HBO Max price and $4.99 Disney+ and Hulu price should be treated as historical reference points. A later promotion may use the same or a similar price, but it must be independently verified before being presented as active.
