For a 24/7 YouTube stream at 1080p and 30 fps, use 14 Mbps for H.264 or 10 Mbps for AV1/H.265—choose the rate for the codec your encoder actually sends. For a typical H.264 setup, start at 14 Mbps. YouTube does not specify a separate bitrate for yoga or meditation, or a special rate for continuous streams.
Recommended 1080p30 settings
YouTube’s encoder guidance bases its video bitrate recommendation on resolution, frame rate, and codec—not the subject being streamed. These are platform configuration recommendations, not results from an independent performance study. The source does not state a publication date.
| Setting | Recommendation |
|---|---|
| Resolution and frame rate | 1080p at 30 fps |
| Video bitrate, H.264 | 14 Mbps |
| Video bitrate, AV1 or H.265 | 10 Mbps |
| Bitrate mode | CBR |
| Keyframe interval | 2 seconds recommended; do not exceed 4 seconds |
| Stereo audio | AAC or MP3; 128 kbps recommended |
| Protocol | RTMP or RTMPS; YouTube recommends RTMPS |
| Color space for SDR | Rec. 709 |
YouTube’s encoder settings guidance is the source for the codec-specific rates and other settings above. If you are unsure which codec the encoder outputs, check its stream or output settings rather than choosing a bitrate based on the yoga content.
How much upload bandwidth to allow
Your available upload capacity must accommodate the total outgoing stream bitrate, with headroom. YouTube’s guidance says to allow the primary stream plus any backup stream, then add 20%: YouTube’s bandwidth guidance.

- Read Before You Buy — No Video Output: These adapters support charging and USB 2.0 data transfer, but cannot transmit video signals. Except for standard USB webcams (which use USB data only), they are not compatible with HDMI/DisplayPort cables, video-capable USB-C hubs, or docking stations with video output.
- Convert USB-A Ports to USB-C: Designed to connect USB-C earphones, cables, flash drives, card readers, and other USB-C accessories to standard USB-A ports. Plug-and-play with no drivers or software required.
- Aluminum Alloy Housing: Built with a sturdy aluminum alloy shell that aids in heat dissipation and protects against daily wear and scratches. Designed to maintain a stable and secure connection.
- Compact & Travel-Friendly: The ultra-compact design allows the adapter to stay plugged into your device without blocking adjacent ports or adding bulk, reducing wear and tear on your original USB ports.
- 12-Month Warranty: Backed by a 12-month manufacturer warranty for peace of mind. Designed to meet strict quality control standards for reliable everyday performance.
For one H.264 stream using 14 Mbps video and 128 kbps stereo audio, that rule gives a planning target of about 17 Mbps upload capacity, rounded, before accounting for a backup stream. This is a calculation from YouTube’s recommendation, not a guarantee of uninterrupted streaming. Other devices using the connection, congestion, or network disruptions can still cause problems.
Configure and test the stream
- Set the output: choose 1080p at 30 fps and the codec you intend to send. Set video to 14 Mbps for H.264 or 10 Mbps for AV1/H.265.
- Set transmission options: use CBR, a two-second keyframe interval (never more than four seconds), and RTMPS where your encoder supports it. For SDR, set Rec. 709.
- Set audio: use stereo AAC or MP3 at 128 kbps.
- Check upload capacity: use YouTube’s primary-plus-backup-plus-20% guidance, including audio in the stream total. Leave headroom for normal variation in the connection.
- Test a representative segment: include movement and audio like the planned yoga program. Start the encoder early enough to inspect the Live Control Room preview, check stream health, and listen and watch for quality problems before relying on the setup.
- Monitor while live: keep an eye on YouTube’s stream health and the actual audio and video. A successful initial test cannot rule out later network interruptions.
YouTube’s event preparation advice says, “Make sure to test before you start your live stream.” Its cited guidance does not establish a separate operating procedure or uptime limit for a 24/7 stream.

Keep the stream running around the clock
Run it from your own encoder
A computer and encoder can send the stream using the settings above, but the stream depends on the computer, encoder, and internet connection remaining available. A hardware encoder is an optional path for more elaborate production; YouTube describes encoders as supporting overlays and equipment such as preamps and cameras, and recommends professional-grade hardware encoders for higher-production-value events. It is not required just to use the recommended bitrate.
Or let it run in the cloud
StreamNeo is a cloud service for keeping a YouTube channel live from uploaded videos. Upload a recording or build a playlist, add your YouTube stream key, and go live; StreamNeo loops the video from the cloud, so no computer or home connection has to stay on. It is YouTube-only and plays uploaded videos rather than broadcasting a live camera.

Copyright and continuous-stream considerations
Bitrate settings do not grant permission to use a video, soundtrack, or other material. Use content you created or are authorized to stream, including any music in a yoga session. A stable encoder configuration also does not guarantee a 24/7 connection: the cited YouTube guidance does not specify a special continuous-stream bitrate or a 24/7 uptime limit.

Troubleshooting bitrate and stream health
- Stream health reports instability: check whether total stream bitrate exceeds reliable upload capacity. Apply YouTube’s headroom rule, account for a backup stream, and reduce competing network use or lower the outgoing load if needed.
- Wrong bitrate for the selected codec: verify the actual encoder output. At 1080p30, use the H.264 recommendation for H.264, and the AV1/H.265 recommendation for those codecs.
- Encoder settings are rejected or quality is inconsistent: verify CBR, the two-second keyframe target (maximum four seconds), the supported protocol, and matching resolution and frame rate. Test again and inspect the Live Control Room preview.
- Audio is missing or poor: confirm the encoder is sending stereo AAC or MP3 audio and check the audio during a representative test, not only the video preview.
- The stream stops after a network interruption: check the internet connection and encoder operation. YouTube’s setup advice does not promise automatic recovery for a local encoder setup; a cloud service such as StreamNeo offers automatic recovery if YouTube drops the stream.
Bottom line on the bitrate
For a 1080p30 H.264 yoga meditation stream, configure 14 Mbps video, CBR, a two-second keyframe interval, and 128 kbps stereo audio; allow about 17 Mbps upload capacity for one stream under YouTube’s 20% headroom guidance. If your encoder sends AV1 or H.265 instead, use 10 Mbps video. Test with representative movement and sound before leaving a continuous stream unattended.
