Bella Hadid appears as Sadie, the girlfriend of Taylor Sheridan’s character Travis Wheatley, in Yellowstone season 5, episode 13, “Give the World Away.” Beth Dutton meets Sadie at Travis’s home, in a scene that drew attention because Hadid’s appearance was unexpected and the casting invited jokes as well as enthusiastic reactions. The coverage cited here samples social-media posts; it does not establish a broad audience consensus or a measured controversy.
Who does Bella Hadid play in Yellowstone?
Hadid plays Sadie, a fictional character identified as Travis Wheatley’s girlfriend. Travis is played by Yellowstone co-creator Taylor Sheridan. The cameo is in season 5, episode 13, “Give the World Away,” which aired December 8, 2024, during the concluding stretch of the season. ABC News / Good Morning America and TV Insider identify the character and episode.
What happens in the cameo?
Beth Dutton, played by Kelly Reilly, visits Travis in Texas while seeking his help selling the Yellowstone ranch’s horses. When Beth first sees Sadie, she assumes Sadie works for Travis. Sadie corrects her: she is Travis’s girlfriend. Beth responds with a cutting remark about the relationship, then watches Travis ride and admits, “OK, yeah, I get it.” The exchange is pointed and comic rather than a major plot turn. ABC News / Good Morning America reports the dialogue; TV Insider provides the episode’s Texas setup.
Why did the cameo draw attention?
Hadid is widely known as a fashion model, so her appearance in the Western drama was a surprise to some viewers. The casting also put her opposite Sheridan’s Travis, a character whose boastful manner and romantic life are part of the joke in the scene. Entertainment coverage highlighted posts questioning why Hadid was there alongside comments enjoying the appearance. TV Insider and The Independent describe a mix of surprise, amusement, and approval.

Calling the response “controversial” can overstate what those reports show. They feature selected social-media reactions, not polling or representative audience research; no reliable percentage or consensus is established. The evidence supports saying the cameo prompted a divided set of online reactions, not that Yellowstone viewers broadly objected.
Why was Bella Hadid cast?
One plausible connection is the horse world. Hadid has equestrian interests, and she, Sheridan, and other people associated with Yellowstone participated in a National Cutting Horse Association celebrity contest in San Antonio. TV Insider suggested that shared horse-world connections and friendship may have helped explain the cameo. That is a reported possibility, not a confirmed explanation from Hadid, Sheridan, or Paramount. TV Insider’s episode coverage discusses the connection.
