At the latest availability check for this article, Tubi’s page for the animated series says the content is unavailable. JustWatch’s U.S. listing also reports no free streaming option for the show and points viewers toward purchase options instead. Availability can change by country and date, so the September 2024 promotion should be treated as historical.
When was Beetlejuice: The Animated Series free on Tubi?
Reports published from September 2 through September 5, 2024 said that all four seasons of Beetlejuice: The Animated Series had been added to Tubi at no charge with advertising. The timing was deliberate: the live-action sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, was scheduled to open in U.S. theaters on September 6, 2024.

That made the Tubi placement a convenient nostalgia watch for viewers preparing to return to the world of Beetlejuice. It did not mean the cartoon had entered a permanent free-streaming arrangement, and it should not be confused with a subscription catalog, a digital purchase, or ownership of the episodes.
Is the Beetlejuice cartoon still free on Tubi?
U.S. status at the latest check: No confirmed free stream of the animated series is currently listed.
- Tubi: The series page remains identifiable in Tubi’s catalog, but it currently says the content is unavailable.
- JustWatch U.S.: No free streaming option is listed; the guide identifies digital purchase outlets including Amazon Video and the Apple TV Store, along with DVD options.
- YouTube: Warner Bros.’ verified Generation WB channel has published clips and binge-oriented promotional videos, but those materials should not be treated as a complete, authorized archive of all 94 episodes.
Because streaming rights move between services, check a current U.S. availability guide immediately before watching. A listing that was accurate during the September 2024 Tubi window may be wrong later—or may not apply in another country.
What is Beetlejuice: The Animated Series about?
The animated show is a television spin-off associated with Tim Burton’s 1988 film Beetlejuice. It ran from 1989 through 1991 for four seasons and 94 episodes.

The central relationship is between Lydia Deetz and Beetlejuice. Lydia is portrayed as a twelve-year-old who joins her ghost friend for bizarre adventures that move between the mortal world and the Neitherworld. Episodes generally use a self-contained, imaginative comedy-and-fantasy format rather than following the darker, more dangerous structure of the feature film.
Tubi categorizes the program as a kids-and-family animated comedy/fantasy series. That label reflects an important distinction for anyone watching because of the film: the cartoon uses the same broad characters and supernatural setting, but its episodic friendship premise gives it a more accessible, youth-oriented tone.
How is the cartoon different from the live-action Beetlejuice movies?
| Animated series | Live-action film identity |
|---|---|
| Centers on Lydia and Beetlejuice’s friendship | Centers on the Deetz family, ghosts, and the disruptive bio-exorcist Beetlejuice |
| Uses episodic adventures across the mortal world and Neitherworld | Uses a more concentrated feature-film story |
| Presented as a kids-and-family animated comedy/fantasy program | Retains a darker, stranger live-action horror-comedy identity |
| Runs for 94 episodes across four seasons | Consists of separate feature films released decades apart |
The cartoon is therefore best approached as an animated interpretation of the property, not as a direct replacement for either movie. Viewers looking for a nostalgic return to the characters may enjoy the shared setting and Lydia–Beetlejuice dynamic, while viewers expecting the exact tone of the 1988 film may find the series considerably more family-oriented.
The most reliable way to watch all four seasons
If the series is unavailable on a free service, physical media is the most durable option. Beetlejuice: The Complete Series DVD was released by Warner Bros. Home Entertainment on June 25, 2024, and retailer metadata identifies it as a 10-disc set containing the complete animated series.

- Movie dvd
Beetlejuice: The Complete Series DVD is the clearest fallback for viewers who want access to all four seasons without waiting for streaming rights to rotate again. Check the current seller, price, stock, and regional format before buying; retailer listings can change, and DVD compatibility may matter outside the United States.
A box set is less convenient than a free, ad-supported stream and requires a DVD player or compatible drive. Its advantage is predictability: once purchased, it is not removed from a streaming catalog because a licensing window expires.
Can you watch the complete cartoon on YouTube?
Warner Bros.’ verified Generation WB YouTube channel has official Beetlejuice animated-series clips and binge-oriented videos. Those uploads are useful for sampling the show and confirming that official material exists online, but they are not evidence that all 94 episodes are legally available as a complete free stream.
Do not assume that a video compilation or playlist contains every episode, has authorization to host the full series, or will remain available. For complete-series viewing, verify the individual episode list and rights status rather than relying on a “watch the whole series” description.

What happened to the sequel’s streaming release?
Beetlejuice Beetlejuice opened in U.S. theaters on September 6, 2024—the event that prompted the earlier Tubi nostalgia window. The sequel later began streaming exclusively on Max in the United States on December 6, 2024. Netflix’s Tudum service subsequently reported that the film became available on Netflix in the United States on May 6, 2025.
Those dates apply to the sequel, not to the animated series. The two titles have separate licensing arrangements, so the sequel’s availability on Max or Netflix does not establish that the cartoon is available on either service.
Viewers who want to continue from the cartoon into the newer movie can look for Beetlejuice Beetlejuice DVD, Blu-ray, or 4K UHD editions, subject to current stock and regional availability. That is a secondary purchase option: it is related to the franchise, but it does not provide the four-season animated series.
What to check before trying to watch
- Confirm the country. The availability information above is U.S.-specific unless a service states otherwise.
- Check the date. The free Tubi window occurred in September 2024; do not treat old articles as current listings.
- Distinguish access types. “Free with ads,” subscription streaming, digital purchase, rental, and DVD ownership are different options.
- Verify the whole season count. The complete series contains four seasons and 94 episodes.
- Be cautious with video playlists. Official clips are not the same as an authorized complete-series stream.
- Consider the DVD set. If dependable access matters more than immediate convenience, the 10-disc complete-series release avoids another temporary streaming window.
Bottom line
Beetlejuice: The Animated Series was free with ads on Tubi for a short period in early September 2024, just before Beetlejuice Beetlejuice opened in U.S. theaters. At the latest check, Tubi marked the cartoon unavailable and JustWatch listed no free U.S. streaming option. For all 94 episodes, the complete-series DVD is the most dependable legal fallback unless a new streaming deal is confirmed.
