Winona Ryder and Catherine O’Hara also return as Lydia and Delia, bringing the original film’s family back alongside a new generation.
What the first-look images reveal
ABC News/GMA’s first-look report identifies Keaton, Ryder, Ortega and O’Hara in the sequel’s images. Keaton reprises Beetlejuice, while Ortega joins the Deetz family as Astrid. The images establish the returning cast and the new family connection, but they do not disclose more specific plot details.
The character’s recognizable black-and-white striped look remains part of Beetlejuice’s visual identity. The images’ central news, though, is the mix of familiar faces and a younger Deetz generation.

What is the sequel about?
Warner Bros.’ official premise says an unexpected family tragedy brings three generations of the Deetz family back to their home in Winter River. The studio’s official teaser listing identifies Astrid as Lydia’s daughter. Beyond that setup, the first-look announcement does not establish further plot specifics.
Why the first look matters
The casting connects the sequel to the 1988 Beetlejuice through Keaton, Ryder and O’Hara, while Ortega’s Astrid gives Lydia’s family a new generation. That combination is the clearest story signal in the images: the original characters return, but the Deetz family is no longer limited to the characters audiences met in the first film.
