How to watch in the United States
For the original 2024 event, CBS Sports listed the first leg—Bayern Munich vs. Real Madrid—for CBS television and Paramount+. The second leg, listed as Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich, was scheduled for 3 p.m. Eastern on Paramount+.
Paramount+ was therefore the historical Paramount+ Champions League stream destination identified in the U.S. schedule for both matches. That information applies to the 2024 semifinal only. It does not confirm the service’s current August 2026 rights, pricing, free-trial terms, archive access, or availability for any other Champions League season.
The 2024 listings also included pre-match programming on Paramount+, post-match coverage on Paramount+ and CBS Sports Network, and supplemental programming through CBS Sports Golazo Network. Those listings should be treated as historical event coverage rather than a current broadcast schedule.

Bayern Munich
The available first-leg confirmed lineup provides the relevant historical reference for Bayern’s core group. Bayern started Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Eric Dier, Kim Min-jae, Noussair Mazraoui, Konrad Laimer, Leon Goretzka, Leroy Sané, Thomas Müller, Jamal Musiala, and Harry Kane.

The tactical question entering the return match
Thomas Tuchel described the semifinal as a contest likely to move through different phases. Bayern needed to survive stretches in which Madrid controlled possession or attacked space, while also making its own chances count. Carlo Ancelotti said before the match that Real Madrid respected Bayern and believed his squad was ready for the challenge.

- Several paths to victory.
The 2–2 first-leg score made game state especially important. Neither side entered the Bernabéu with an aggregate advantage, meaning an early goal could change the balance without eliminating the opponent’s path back into the tie. Bayern’s first-leg attacking threat, Madrid’s transition play, and the finishing of Vinícius and Kane were central storylines.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone.A historic European rivalry
UEFA described this as the clubs’ eighth European Cup or Champions League semifinal meeting. Real Madrid’s official preview also called Bayern–Madrid the competition’s most frequent matchup at that point, with 26 European meetings and 20 combined European Cups between the clubs.
That history helps explain the attention around the fixture, but it did not decide the tie. The immediate sporting context was the 2–2 first leg, the return to Madrid, and the chance to reach the Champions League final.
Important date note for searchers
Search results may still use phrases such as “live stream,” “watch online,” or “team news” for this fixture. Those terms describe the original pre-match search intent. As of August 11, 2026, the 2023/24 semifinal is complete and is not a live event scheduled for today. Current Champions League fixtures should be checked separately; Bayern Munich and Real Madrid also met in the 2025/26 quarterfinals, not in that season’s semifinals.
