Its major reveal is that Chris Evans returns as Steve Rogers. Disney’s film page currently lists Avengers: Doomsday for theatrical release on December 18, 2026.
What did the first teaser leak reveal?
The central reveal was Chris Evans returning as Steve Rogers. The teaser ends with the words “Steve Rogers will return for ‘Avengers: Doomsday’,” followed by a countdown, as reported by the Los Angeles Times.
What appears in the teaser?
Rogers arrives by motorcycle at a house, looks at his former Captain America uniform, and then holds an infant. TheWrap also described him returning to a familiar farmhouse and holding a baby. The footage establishes those images, but neither report identifies the child or explains the scene’s place in the story.
What is confirmed—and what is speculation?
Confirmed by the footage and reporting
- Chris Evans is returning as Steve Rogers in Avengers: Doomsday.
- The teaser shows Rogers with an infant and his former uniform.
- The teaser’s closing text announces Rogers’ return.
Not established by the teaser
The child’s identity, parentage, and significance are not confirmed by the cited reporting. Any claim that the infant is a particular character’s child, or that the scene definitively establishes Rogers’ family situation, should be treated as speculation rather than a revealed plot fact.

When did the teaser leak, and when was it released officially?
The footage appeared online roughly a week before Marvel’s official release on December 23, 2025. TheWrap reported that it had been intended to screen before Avatar: Fire and Ash. The leak was the original news moment; the teaser is no longer merely leaked footage. Disney’s official film page now lists the movie’s video material, including an official trailer and other promotional videos.

Disney currently lists Avengers: Doomsday for an exclusive theatrical release on December 18, 2026. That is the date on the studio’s film page, not a guarantee that the schedule cannot change. The page also identifies Steve Rogers/Captain America, played by Chris Evans, and Thor, played by Chris Hemsworth, among a broad ensemble.

- After being ensnared in a death trap, an unconventional team of antiheroes assembles and embarks on a dangerous mission. Forced to confront the darkest corners of their pasts, will the group tear themselves apart, or find redemption and prevail?
In August 2026, Variety Australia reported that Marvel unveiled a second trailer at Disney’s D23 fan convention. Its account described Doctor Doom and a crossover cast spanning Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, and X-Men characters. That later campaign material means the first teaser’s Rogers reveal is not the only official promotional information available.
