Ariel Winter’s reported 2022 Tennessee purchase was a newly built home in College Grove, not Nashville proper, and the reported price was $2.9 million—not more than $3 million. Architectural Digest described the house as built in 2020, with four bedrooms and 5,284 square feet. Winter said privacy was one reason she wanted to leave Los Angeles.
Where did Ariel Winter move?
Winter bought a home in College Grove, an unincorporated community about 34 miles from Nashville, according to Architectural Digest. Calling it a Nashville-area home is understandable, but the reported location is College Grove rather than the city of Nashville.
What was the home like, and how much did it cost?
Architectural Digest reported on December 6, 2022, that Winter paid $2.9 million for the home shortly after selling her Studio City home in spring 2022. The publication described the Tennessee property as built in 2020, with four bedrooms, five bathrooms and 5,284 square feet. Williamson Source also reported a $2.9 million purchase; Taste of Country reported the same price and size but gave a different bathroom count. The figures are secondary reporting, not independently verified deed or assessor records.
The available reports therefore do not support saying that Winter paid over $3 million for the Tennessee home. They place the reported price just below that threshold.

Why did Winter leave Los Angeles?
In a May 2022 appearance on the Quitters podcast, co-hosted by her Modern Family co-star Julie Bowen, Winter connected her decision in part to privacy. Architectural Digest quoted her saying, “Part of the reason I always hated L.A. is because I have been followed by paparazzi for a very long portion of my life. And I really, really dislike having my space invaded.” She also said, “I don’t like feeling watched. I’ve always just wanted to live a very, very normal life, just have a normal existence.”

Winter’s Los Angeles property history includes separate transactions that can be confused with the Tennessee move. A 2020 Dirt report reproduced by fan site ArielWinter.org said she sold a Studio City modern farmhouse for slightly more than $2.8 million and bought another nearby farmhouse for $3.5 million. That report also said she had bought the home she sold about three and a half years earlier for just under $2.7 million. These were Los Angeles transactions, not the College Grove purchase.
A separate Nine.com.au report, attributing details to Dirt, said Winter had bought a then-brand-new Studio City home about 18 months before its report for $4.8 million, approximately US$3.5 million. That account is also about Los Angeles, and should not be treated as the price of her Tennessee home.
