“Tarnished” is a judgment about reputational spillover, not a measured verdict on Princess Beatrice or Princess Eugenie. The available evidence shows that scrutiny has reached the sisters because of their relationship to Andrew Mountbatten Windsor: a YouGov finding indicates that many Britons think they would be right to distance themselves from their father, and Eugenie’s patronage of an anti-slavery charity ended. It does not establish that either sister’s personal standing has fallen, that the charity acted because of Andrew, or that either sister did anything wrong in connection with Epstein.
What does “tarnished” mean in this case?
The word describes a possible spillover effect: attention and criticism directed at Andrew may also shape how people view his daughters. But the polling evidence available here does not measure Beatrice’s or Eugenie’s individual favourability. Nor does it show that either sister is responsible for her father’s conduct.
It is important to separate three things: public opinion about Andrew or the Royal Family from opinion about his daughters; pressure on the sisters from evidence about what they have chosen to do; and an investigation or allegation from a finding of guilt.
What did the polls actually find?
An Ipsos online survey of 1,088 adults aged 18–75 in Great Britain ran from 13 to 16 February 2026, before Andrew’s arrest that week. Its results concern Andrew and the Royal Family as a whole—not the personal reputations of Beatrice and Eugenie.

Ipsos’s UK Politics Director, Keiran Pedley, said the findings suggested the latest Andrew revelations had damaged the Royal Family “in the court of public opinion,” while noting that the duration of the damage was unclear. That is an assessment of the wider institution, not a finding about either sister’s individual standing. Ipsos
Did Andrew lose his title—and did his daughters?
No. Buckingham Palace said on 30 October 2025 that Andrew would be known as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor and that a formal process to remove his styles, titles and honours had begun. The House of Commons Library records that Letters Patent dated 3 November 2025 removed his style of Royal Highness and his titular dignity of Prince. These actions concerned Andrew; they did not remove Beatrice’s or Eugenie’s titles. Buckingham Palace · House of Commons Library

What is the investigation into Andrew about?
On 19 February 2026, King Charles said he supported the appropriate authorities and that “the law must take its course” as an issue was investigated. The Royal Family
The Associated Press reported that the public-office inquiry concerned possible sharing of confidential trade information during Andrew’s former role as a UK trade envoy. It described that inquiry as unrelated to allegations about Epstein’s sex trafficking. The inquiry is an investigation, not an adjudicated finding of guilt. The Associated Press

What changed for Eugenie’s charity work?
The Guardian reported that Eugenie’s patronage of Anti-Slavery International ended after seven years. The charity thanked her for her support and said it hoped she would continue working to end slavery. Its quoted statement did not give a reason for the patronage ending, so the report does not establish that Andrew’s scandal caused the decision. The Guardian
The Guardian also reported that there was no suggestion of wrongdoing by Beatrice or Eugenie in connection with Epstein. The end of a patronage is a documented change in Eugenie’s public role; on its own, it is not proof of personal misconduct or of a broader loss of public favour.

What can be concluded about the sisters’ reputations?
There is evidence of reputational pressure: the YouGov result shows that many Britons expected the sisters to distance themselves from Andrew, while wider polling recorded negative views of Andrew and a mixed assessment of the Royal Family. There is also a reported change to Eugenie’s charity patronage. But the sources cited here do not provide individual favourability trends for either sister, establish that the charity’s decision was linked to Andrew, or show that the sisters were involved in the conduct under investigation.
