Which historical picks stood out?
“Best” depends on what you want to watch and whether you will use a complete-series bundle. Among the reported movie prices, It’s a Wonderful Life was the lowest at $4.99; Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, Full Metal Jacket, and The Godfather were each listed at $7.99. Those are comparisons within the historical list, not current buying recommendations.
#1 Best Overall
For TV, the reported bundle prices ranged from $14.99 for Twin Peaks: The Complete Original Series to $54.99 for Breaking Bad: The Complete Series. Before choosing a bundle in any sale, check which seasons and episodes its current listing includes, then compare the total with the individual titles you actually want. A low bundle price is useful only if its contents fit your plans.
How to check Apple’s current listings
- Open the Apple TV app or Apple’s storefront for your country or region. Apple describes the app as a place to buy and rent content and watch previously purchased iTunes titles; see Apple’s Apple TV app overview.
- Search for the exact movie or series, then open its listing. Confirm the displayed price, whether it is a purchase or rental, and the edition or seasons included.
- For a series bundle, compare its included seasons with the individual episodes or seasons you intend to watch before purchasing.
- Use the price shown in your own storefront as the current one. The historical roundup does not verify a live sale, present-day prices, or availability in any region.
Apple TV purchases are separate from Apple TV+
Apple’s TV app supports buying and renting titles as well as access to previous iTunes purchases. Those transactional listings are distinct from Apple TV+, which is a subscription streaming service. A discounted purchase in the app should not be mistaken for inclusion in a subscription catalog.
