The first reports of the 2026 rollout appeared on February 3, 2026, but Replay is not a single launch-day event: Apple makes the current-year playlist, monthly insights, milestones, and later year-end results available as enough listening history accumulates.
Apple does not publish a universal minimum number of songs, plays, or listening hours. If Replay is missing, check the Apple Account you use, enable Use Listening History on every device, update Apple Music, and try replay.music.apple.com.

What Apple Music Replay 2026 is
Replay is Apple Music’s personalized record of your listening. Apple says it uses listening history, play counts, and time spent listening to produce rankings for songs, artists, albums, playlists, genres, and stations. See Apple’s Replay support documentation for the feature’s current details.
Replay 2026 should therefore be understood as an ongoing experience rather than an August or December-only recap. Depending on your eligibility and the time of year, it can include:
#1 Best Overall
- For all things Apple - products, accessories, apps, games, music, movies, TV shows, iCloud+, and more.
- Perfect for App Store purchases and subscriptions—get apps, games, music, movies, TV shows, and more.
- The perfect gift to say happy birthday, thank you, congratulations, and more.
- Available in $15 - 500, Card delivered via email or SMS
- Use it for purchases at any Apple Store location, on the Apple Store app, apple.com, the App Store, iTunes, Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple News+, Apple Books, Apple Arcade, iCloud+, Fitness+, Apple One, and other Apple properties in US only
- A current-year Replay playlist that updates weekly.
- Monthly listening insights.
- Top songs, artists, albums, playlists, genres, and stations.
- Play counts and total listening time.
- Listening milestones and comparisons.
- Year-end audio and visual highlights.
- Replay playlists from previous years.
- An “All Time” playlist based on your accumulated Apple Music history.
- Possible rankings among an artist’s or genre’s top 100, 500, or 1,000 listeners.
Not every category necessarily appears at the same time. You may see the 2026 playlist before monthly insights or the eventual year-end highlight reel.
When did Replay 2026 become available?
MacRumors reported on February 3, 2026, that Replay 2026 playlists were beginning to appear for qualifying Apple Music users. Apple’s support instructions were published or updated in late May and early June, and by August 18 the feature was established for eligible accounts rather than a brand-new launch. The original rollout report is available from MacRumors.
Apple does not promise that every subscriber receives Replay simultaneously. Availability depends on whether Apple has enough qualifying listening history to generate meaningful results, and some availability can vary by country or region.

The accurate answer is: Apple Music creates Replay after it has enough listening history for the account. Apple does not publish a fixed public threshold such as a required number of hours, songs, plays, or days.
Apple’s developer documentation describes Replay data as applying to the most recent year for which the user has enough listening history. Its documented API endpoint is GET https://api.music.apple.com/v1/me/music-summaries, using filter[year]=latest. That endpoint requires developer authentication and is not a normal consumer workaround. Details are available in Apple’s MusicKit Replay documentation.
Eligibility can be affected by:
- How long you have listened during the relevant year.
- Whether listening history was enabled.
- Whether listening took place under the same Apple Account.
- Whether sufficient qualifying data was recorded.
- Feature availability in your country or region.
Claims such as “Replay requires 10 hours,” “100 songs,” or “30 days” are not official Apple rules. They may be anecdotal observations, but they should not be used to calculate eligibility.
Replay 2026 missing? Follow these checks
1. Verify the Apple Account
Go to the Replay website and sign in with the account used for Apple Music. This matters if you have multiple Apple Accounts, use Family Sharing, or have signed into different accounts on different devices. A subscription billed through one account does not prove that all listening was recorded under that same account.
2. Turn on listening history everywhere
Apple identifies listening history as a key requirement when Replay is absent.
- iPhone or iPad: Settings > Apps > Music > Use Listening History.
- Mac: Music > Settings > General > Use Listening History.
- Android: Apple Music > More > Settings > Use Listening History.
Check every device used for Apple Music. Turning the setting on should allow future listening to be recorded, but Apple does not promise that it will reconstruct periods when listening history was disabled.
Rank #3

- Perfect for App Store purchases and subscriptions—get apps, games, music, movies, TV shows, and more.
- The perfect gift to say happy birthday, thank you, congratulations, and more.
- Available in $15 - 500, Card delivered via email or SMS

3. Update Apple Music and your operating system
Install available updates, then reopen Apple Music and check the Home tab again. Also try the web portal, since the app and web interfaces may not expose the same entry point at exactly the same time.
4. Give the data time to update
Replay is not necessarily recalculated immediately after each listening session. Apple says the current-year playlist updates weekly, while monthly insights and year-end features appear on their own schedule after eligibility is established.
5. Check regional and device limitations
Apple Music availability can vary by country or region, and Apple’s documentation does not guarantee that every connected-device app exposes the full Replay interface. Use the supported app or website on a phone, tablet, Mac, or PC before concluding that the feature is unavailable.
6. Contact Apple Support if the account is clearly eligible
If listening history has been enabled across your devices, the account is correct, the software is updated, and Replay remains absent after the relevant update cycle, contact Apple Support. Ask them to verify the subscription account and whether Replay data is being generated; do not rely on unofficial threshold calculators.
Why Replay may not match your expectations
Replay is not necessarily a transparent ledger where the track you remember hearing most often automatically ranks first. Apple says it uses multiple inputs, including play counts and time spent listening. The resulting rankings may therefore differ from a simple manual count.
The playlist also changes weekly. A favorite released late in the year can climb later, while an early-year favorite can fall. Monthly statistics and the final year-end presentation are separate stages of the same broader Replay system.

Apple Music Replay versus Spotify Wrapped
The practical difference is timing. Apple Music Replay provides a current-year playlist that continues updating, monthly insights for eligible users, and a later year-end summary. Spotify is more strongly associated with its annual Wrapped event, alongside features such as Blend, collaborative listening, and social discovery.
Rank #4
- For all things Apple - products, accessories, apps, games, music, movies, TV shows, iCloud+, and more.
- Perfect for App Store purchases and subscriptions—get apps, games, music, movies, TV shows, and more.

- Use it for purchases at any Apple Store location, on the Apple Store app, apple.com, the App Store, iTunes, Apple Music, Apple TV, Apple News+, Apple Books, Apple Arcade, iCloud+, Fitness+, Apple One, and other Apple properties in US only
Switching services will not automatically transfer Apple Music listening history or recreate your Apple Music Replay data. If your goal is to see Replay 2026, continue using the Apple Account and Apple Music library that generated the history.
Should you subscribe to Apple Music just for Replay?
Replay is tied to Apple Music listening history, so it is not a standalone free tracker. Apple’s official Apple Music page listed U.S. pricing and promotional offers on August 16, 2026, including an Individual plan shown at $10.99 per month in the FAQ, a promotional plan card showing three months for $1.99 followed by $11.99 per month, Family at $19.99 per month, Student at $6.99 per month, and Apple One plans starting at $19.95 per month. Offers, prices, and eligibility can change, so confirm the final terms at checkout.
Apple Music is the more natural fit for readers already using Apple devices, Family Sharing, lossless audio, Spatial Audio, Apple Music Classical, or the Apple ecosystem. It is a poor fit if you want a historical recap for a period when listening history was disabled, or if you want Replay without maintaining an Apple Music listening history.

Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems2Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute3Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsDoes turning on listening history recover old Replay data?
It should allow future listening to be recorded, but Apple does not guarantee that it will reconstruct listening from a period when the setting was disabled.
The Bottom Line
Bottom line: Apple Music Replay 2026 is real and available to qualifying users, but there is no public numeric eligibility cutoff. Check the correct Apple Account, enable Use Listening History on every device, update the app, and use replay.music.apple.com. Remember that the current playlist updates weekly and is not the same thing as the later year-end recap.
