After the September 2024 premiere of Dancing with the Stars season 33, professional dancer Ezra Sosa said Anna Delvey had been reading online comments amid backlash over her casting and was later found crying in a bathroom. The account came from Sosa, her dance partner, in a TikTok described by Yahoo Entertainment’s September 25, 2024 report; it is not an independently confirmed account from Delvey.
What did Ezra Sosa say happened?
Yahoo Entertainment reported that Sosa described Delvey reading online comments after the premiere, as negative reactions to her casting and performance circulated. He said she was later found crying in a bathroom. The report attributes the account to a TikTok Sosa posted after the premiere.

As quoted in Yahoo’s report, Sosa said: “They finally found her in the bathroom. She was crying. I’ve never seen her like that, and it broke my heart.”
The original TikTok was not independently reviewed for this account, and the cited coverage does not include Delvey’s own confirmation or explanation of the bathroom incident. The available account therefore supports what Sosa said he witnessed, not a definitive explanation of Delvey’s private feelings.

Why was Delvey reportedly upset?
Sosa connected the moment to Delvey reading comments amid backlash after the premiere. The reports do not establish more about her motivation, so it would go beyond the available account to state precisely why she was crying.

The bathroom account concerns the period after the season 33 premiere. Delvey and Sosa were eliminated in week two, on September 24, 2024. During that later broadcast, co-host Julianne Hough asked Delvey what she was taking away from the experience, and Delvey answered, “Nothing.” The elimination exchange was a separate event, not part of Sosa’s premiere-night account. A September 26, 2024 People report republished by AOL covered the response.
