Angelina Jolie and her daughter Zahara wore complementary Alexander McQueen gowns at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards on January 5, 2025. Jolie’s dress was silver; Zahara’s was white. Both were embellished, and their similar patterns created a coordinated effect without making the gowns identical.

Jolie wore a silver embellished Alexander McQueen dress. The Associated Press described its glistening metallic colors as forming a branchlike pattern. Zahara wore a white embellished dress by the same label, with a similar pattern, according to contemporaneous fashion coverage from ELLE and the Associated Press.
The documented similarities are the designer, embellishment, and patterned effect; the color differed. The available descriptions do not establish that the gowns had identical designs or provide further construction or silhouette details.

Why “coordinating” is more accurate than “matching”
Jolie and Zahara’s looks shared a label and a similar embellishment pattern, while their dresses were different colors. “Coordinating” or “complementary” captures that relationship more precisely than “matching”: the reporting describes related gowns, not identical ones.
