Netflix’s July 2024 lineup in the United States mixed new original films and series with returning seasons, major finales, documentaries, comedy specials, anime, and a substantial batch of licensed library titles. The month’s biggest conversation starters included Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F on July 3, Exploding Kittens on July 12, Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1 on July 18, and The Decameron on July 25.
This is a retrospective U.S. release calendar, not a guide to what is currently streaming. The schedule’s principal source was published on June 28, 2024, and Netflix availability can change. Catalogs also vary by country, and a title that arrived in the U.S. in July 2024 may not still be available in August 2026. Not every title below was produced by Netflix: the calendar included both Netflix releases and licensed additions.
The biggest Netflix releases of July 2024
July’s most prominent releases covered several different kinds of Netflix viewing. There was a nostalgia-driven action comedy, the beginning of a final season, two established franchises reaching their conclusions, a card-game adaptation aimed at adults, a period dark comedy, and several documentaries built around extreme achievement or high-stakes real life.
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F — July 3
Eddie Murphy returned as Detroit detective Axel Foley in this action comedy. The story begins when Axel’s daughter’s life is threatened in Beverly Hills. He joins her, a new partner, and familiar colleagues to investigate a conspiracy. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Taylour Paige, Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser, Bronson Pinchot, and Kevin Bacon co-starred, with Mark Molloy directing.

Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1 — July 18
The sixth season was promoted as the final season of the Karate Kid continuation series, but Netflix released it in multiple parts. July 18 brought Part 1 rather than the complete final season, making this one of the month’s most important dates for returning-series viewers.
Exploding Kittens — July 12
This adult animated series adapted the recognizable card-game brand into a television comedy. The familiar name may make it look like a family title, but the series was positioned for adults rather than as children’s programming.
Find Me Falling — July 19
Harry Connick Jr. played aging rock star John Allman, who retreats to Cyprus and encounters an old flame along with complications that make his escape less private than planned. Netflix described the film as a romantic comedy.
The Decameron — July 25
This new period dark comedy used the Black Death as its high-concept setting. The premise and ensemble format made it one of July’s clearest options for viewers looking for something new rather than another season of an established show.

Final seasons and returning franchises
July also brought the final seasons of Sweet Home and Elite. Vikings: Valhalla returned for its final season, while Dragon Prince Season 6, Kleo Season 2, Another Self Season 2, and Eva Lasting Season 2 expanded returning stories. All American Season 6 was added later in the month.
Documentaries and factual series
Documentary viewers had a particularly varied month. Sprint followed elite sprinters; Receiver focused on professional football receivers; Simone Biles Rising centered on the decorated gymnast; and LALIGA: All Access went behind the scenes of the Spanish football league. Other factual releases included The Man With 1000 Kids, Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam, Homicide: Los Angeles, Skywalkers: A Love Story, Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa, and Volume 4 of Unsolved Mysteries.

Every movie and show added to Netflix in July 2024
The following calendar follows the U.S. daily schedule. Dates refer to the Netflix arrival or premiere date reported for the United States, not necessarily a worldwide release date.

July began with a large group of licensed additions and returning library titles, alongside several returning seasons:

- Spider-Man
- Spider-Man 2
- Spider-Man 3
- The Sweetest Thing
- Uncle Buck
- The Wiz
- Zombieland
The July 1 batch was especially strong for recognizable catalog entertainment. The complete Back to the Future trilogy, Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man trilogy, The Karate Kid, Matilda, and Zombieland gave the month a significant nostalgia component. These were library additions, not evidence that Netflix produced every title in the calendar.
July 2
- Sprint — documentary series about elite sprinters
July 3
- The Man With 1000 Kids — documentary series
- Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F — action comedy film
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F was July’s clearest feature-film event for viewers drawn to returning stars and familiar franchises. It brought Eddie Murphy back as Axel Foley while pairing him with a younger supporting cast and new case.
July 4
- Barbecue Showdown Season 3
- Rhythm + Flow France Season 3
July 5
- Desperate Lies
- Goyo — film
- The Imaginary — film
- The Secret of Skinwalker Ranch Season 3
July 7
- Boruto: Naruto the Movie
- The Last: Naruto the Movie
- Road to Ninja: Naruto the Movie
The three anime films made July 7 a focused addition date for Naruto and Boruto fans. Because these were catalog additions, their availability should be understood as market-specific rather than universal.
July 8
- Bad Boys
- Bad Boys II
July 9
- The Boyfriend — Japanese reality dating series
- Hannah Berner: We Ride at Dawn — comedy special
The Boyfriend followed nine young men living together in Japan. They worked at a coffee truck while looking for romance and friendship. Netflix released the episodes in batches beginning July 9 rather than treating the series as a single-day dump of every episode.

- Vikings: Valhalla — final season
- Vanished Into the Night
July 12
- Exploding Kittens — adult animated series
- The Mole Season 2 — finale
- Blame the Game
- The Champion
- Lobola Man
The July 12 listing included the Season 2 finale of The Mole, so this date was a concluding episode event rather than the premiere of a complete new season. Exploding Kittens, meanwhile, was a new adult-oriented series based on the popular card game.
July 15
- Wonderoos
- Midnight Sun
- Trolls Band Together
July 16
- Homicide: Los Angeles
- Chad Daniels: Empty Nester — comedy special
- The Boy Next Door
- Fifty Shades Darker
- Fifty Shades Freed
July 17
- The Green Glove Gang Season 2
- Simone Biles Rising
- T・P Bon Season 2
Simone Biles Rising was one of the month’s major sports-documentary releases, while Homicide: Los Angeles added a true-crime option to the factual lineup.
July 18
- Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1
- Master of the House
The Cobra Kai premiere was the day’s headline arrival. Since Season 6 was divided into parts, viewers who wanted the complete ending had to wait for Netflix’s later installments; July 18 marked only Part 1.
July 19
- LALIGA: All Access
- Sweet Home — final season
- Too Hot to Handle Season 6
- Find Me Falling — romantic comedy film
- Skywalkers: A Love Story — documentary
Skywalkers: A Love Story followed a daredevil couple attempting a dangerous skyscraper stunt while managing the pressure that the challenge placed on their relationship. There is a date discrepancy worth preserving: the U.S. daily schedule listed the documentary for July 19, while Netflix’s film guide also listed July 24. This calendar uses July 19 for the U.S. service schedule and does not silently treat the conflicting dates as identical.

July 24
- Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam
- Love of My Life
- Resurrected Rides
July 24’s factual offering, Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam, joined the month’s growing group of documentary and reality-based releases. The separate Netflix film guide’s July 24 listing for Skywalkers: A Love Story is the source of the date conflict noted above.
July 25
- The Decameron
- Kleo Season 2
- Tokyo Swindlers
The Decameron was the day’s major new scripted series: a dark comedy built around an ensemble isolated during the Black Death. Kleo returned for a second season, and Tokyo Swindlers added another new international series to the month’s schedule.

July 26
- The Dragon Prince Season 6
- Elite — final season
- House of Ga’a — film
- Non Negotiable — film
The date paired a returning animated fantasy series with the final season of Elite. It also supplied two Netflix film releases, House of Ga’a and Non Negotiable.
July 27
- The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
July 31
- Unsolved Mysteries Volume 4
- Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa — documentary
Mountain Queen followed Lhakpa Sherpa, the first Nepali woman to summit Mount Everest, as she attempted another climb while working to improve life for her daughters. It offered a different kind of adventure story from Skywalkers: the focus was not a scripted stunt or fictional quest, but an athlete’s personal and family stakes.
The licensed movies added on July 1
The July 1 batch deserves its own section because it was responsible for much of the month’s familiar-film appeal. It included complete or near-complete franchise groupings rather than only isolated titles:
- Time-travel and coming-of-age favorites: Back to the Future, Back to the Future Part II, Back to the Future Part III, The Karate Kid, and Matilda (1996).
- Superhero action: Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2, and Spider-Man 3.
- Crime, thriller, and horror: American Hustle, American Psycho, Annabelle, Captain Phillips, Jigsaw, The Nun, and Zombieland.
- Comedy and romance: Big Daddy, Call Me by Your Name, Easy A, The House Bunny, Magic Mike XXL, The Sweetest Thing, and Uncle Buck.
- Family viewing: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2, PAW Patrol: The Movie, and The Wiz.
- Additional series and factual titles: About Antoine Season 1, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition Batch 3, Lost Seasons 1–6, Star Trek: Prodigy Season 2, Suits Season 9, and Amazing Antoine.
These additions were useful for viewers who wanted a recognizable movie rather than a new Netflix-branded production. They also illustrate why the full calendar should not be described as a list of Netflix originals.

How to watch the July 2024 slate
This calendar records what arrived on Netflix in the U.S. during July 2024. It does not establish that every title is still in the service’s U.S. catalog, and it says nothing about availability in another country. If you are checking a title now, search for it directly in your local Netflix app or website rather than relying only on its historical release date.
For someone who wants to pay for or give Netflix access, a Netflix gift card is an option supported by Netflix through retail locations and online sellers. Amazon’s help documentation also addressed electronic Netflix gift cards purchased through Amazon, but the available format, seller, and terms can change, so verify the current listing before buying.

You do not need special hardware for the July slate. Netflix can be accessed through compatible smart TVs, game consoles, phones, tablets, computers, and streaming players. If a television lacks a supported Netflix app, an optional streaming device for Netflix, such as a Roku or Fire TV product, can provide an access route. A device does not restore an expired title or bypass regional licensing; it simply provides compatible app access.
Important availability notes
- U.S. focus: The dates in this article describe the U.S. Netflix schedule. Other countries may have different dates, different titles, or no release at all.
- Original versus licensed: The calendar combined Netflix films and series with licensed movies and returning library titles. The July 1 movie batch was particularly heavy on licensed content.
- Historical availability: A July 2024 premiere is not a promise of availability in August 2026. Netflix licenses can expire, and Netflix originals can also leave some regional catalogs under changing distribution arrangements.
- Split-season releases: Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1 was the July 18 release; it was not the complete final season.
- Skywalkers date conflict: The U.S. daily schedule used July 19, while Netflix’s film guide also used July 24. Both dates appeared in the contemporary source material, so the discrepancy should not be erased.
Frequently Asked Questions
Was everything released on Netflix in July 2024 a Netflix original?
No. The schedule included Netflix films and series, but also licensed additions and returning library titles. The July 1 batch included films such as the Back to the Future trilogy, the original Spider-Man trilogy, The Karate Kid, Matilda, and Zombieland.
Was this a worldwide Netflix release calendar?
No. It is a U.S. calendar. Netflix catalogs and release dates vary by country, so a title’s U.S. arrival date does not establish availability elsewhere.
Which documentaries came to Netflix in July 2024?
The notable documentary and factual releases included Sprint, The Man With 1000 Kids, Receiver, Homicide: Los Angeles, Simone Biles Rising, LALIGA: All Access, Dirty Pop: The Boy Band Scam, Skywalkers: A Love Story, Unsolved Mysteries Volume 4, and Mountain Queen: The Summits of Lhakpa Sherpa.
Recommended Free Tools
When did Skywalkers: A Love Story come to Netflix?
The U.S. daily schedule listed July 19, 2024. Netflix’s film guide also listed July 24, creating a source discrepancy. For the U.S. service-calendar view, this article uses July 19 and notes the alternate July 24 listing.
Did the entire final season of Cobra Kai arrive on July 18, 2024?
No. July 18 was the premiere of Season 6, Part 1. Netflix released the final season in multiple parts.
The Bottom Line
Netflix’s U.S. July 2024 slate was defined by variety: Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, Cobra Kai Season 6, Part 1, and The Decameron supplied major scripted attractions; Sprint, Receiver, Simone Biles Rising, Skywalkers, and Mountain Queen strengthened the documentary selection; and the July 1 licensed batch added a deep reserve of familiar movies. Treat the list as a historical release record, not a guarantee of what remains available today.
