Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick have three children: one son, James Wilkie Broderick, and twin daughters, Tabitha Hodge Broderick and Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick. The twins are often referred to publicly as Tabitha and Loretta, respectively—so those shorter names do not indicate a fourth child.

James Wilkie Broderick
James Wilkie Broderick is Parker and Broderick’s older child and only son. He was already part of the family before the twins were born in 2009.
In an ABC News report published on May 29, 2025, Parker said James was beginning to pursue acting. She described the guidance she and Broderick offer as dependent on the particular conversations James brings to them, rather than as a fixed set of career instructions. Parker also said they want their children to choose work that is fulfilling, challenging, and capable of supporting them emotionally and financially.

#1 Best Overall
That reporting supports describing James as exploring or beginning to pursue acting. It does not establish that he has completed a professional acting career, secured a particular role, signed with a named agency, or attended a specific school.
Tabitha Hodge Broderick
Tabitha Hodge Broderick is one of the twins. Her full name has appeared in reporting since the family announced the twins’ arrival.
A 2011 Vogue profile included Sarah Jessica Parker’s observations about the twins’ different temperaments when they were toddlers. Those comments are historical snapshots of the children at that age, not reliable descriptions of Tabitha’s current personality.
More recent reliable coverage has kept Tabitha’s private life largely out of detail. There is no sound basis here for reporting her school, relationships, career plans, or personal views.

Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick is the other twin. Entertainment coverage commonly shortens her name to Loretta, while earlier and representative reporting uses Marion Loretta or the longer full name.
A 2010 Vogue profile reported that the family used the nicknames “Babe” and “Kitty” for the twins during early childhood. Those were historical family nicknames and should not be treated as evidence of their current preferred names.
As with Tabitha, dependable public reporting provides little detail about Marion/Loretta’s present-day private life. Speculation about her education, relationships, beliefs, or future plans should not be presented as fact.
When were the twins born?
Tabitha and Marion were born on June 22, 2009, through a surrogate. The reported arrangement explains how Parker and Broderick welcomed twins after having James, but it does not provide a basis for speculation about biological, genetic, fertility, or medical details beyond the publicly reported surrogate birth.
Rank #3
Because the twins were born in 2009, they turned 17 on June 22, 2026, assuming the widely reported birth date is accurate. Exact current ages should be dated whenever they are used. James’s current age should not be calculated or stated without a verified birth date.
Parker and Broderick’s approach to parenting
Parker has publicly described herself and Broderick as hands-on parents. In a 2011 Vogue interview, she discussed the practical demands of raising three children while both parents maintained demanding careers. She also emphasized that being involved in family life requires genuine participation, not merely managing the logistics from a distance.
More recent comments reported by ABC News addressed the difficulty of balancing work and motherhood, including the unpredictable conflicts and guilt that can affect working parents. These remarks describe Parker’s public perspective on parenting and career pressures; they should not be treated as a diagnosis of the family’s private dynamics.
How much of the family’s life is public?
The Broderick children have occasionally appeared with their parents at entertainment and cultural events, including Broadway openings and premieres. E! News also reported that James shared rare family photographs from the 2024 Paris Olympics, showing the three children together.

Those appearances offer limited, voluntary glimpses of the family—not a complete account of the children’s daily lives. Publicly available reporting does not justify publishing private addresses, schools, schedules, medical information, romantic relationships, or unverified social-media claims. It is also inappropriate to use paparazzi material to fill gaps in reliable reporting.
