Dennis Quaid and Stephan James are also among the first cast members listed by Netflix; the fuller cast listing includes Jai Courtney, Esai Morales, Blake Richardson, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Daniel Webber. Was it the most-watched Netflix movie of 2026?
It was Netflix’s biggest title in the company’s January–June 2026 viewing report, with 147 million views. Netflix published that global report on July 16, 2026. The figure covers the first six months of the year, so it does not establish which film finished 2026 on top.

Netflix says its What We Watched reports capture viewing over six-month periods and that it plans to move to a yearly snapshot beginning in Q1 2027. Until a full-year comparison is available, “most-watched movie of 2026” is too broad; “Netflix’s biggest title in the first half of 2026” accurately describes the reported result.
How does the 39.3 million figure fit?
Netflix Tudum reported that War Machine debuted at No. 1 on the English film Top 10 across 93 countries, with 39.3 million views in the week reported March 10, 2026. That is a separate launch-week measure, not a competing version of the 147 million half-year figure. Weekly chart placement and a six-month total describe different windows and should not be compared as if they were the same statistic.

What Netflix’s viewing numbers mean
The first-half report also says Netflix members watched more than 97 billion hours of content across the service from January through June 2026, its highest half-year view-hours total to that point. That service-wide figure gives scale to Netflix’s viewing period; it is not a measure of War Machine alone.
