This is the Patrick Lussier-directed American film—not the unrelated 2024 science-fiction mystery also called Aftermath, which stars Fruzsina Nagy and Edward Apeagyei. To find the correct movie, search for “Aftermath Dylan Sprouse” or “Aftermath Tobin Bridge.”

Eric’s military background makes him one of the few people on the bridge capable of resisting the attackers, but his experience is also part of the film’s central conflict. The crisis forces him to confront memories and psychological wounds connected to his service while trying to keep Madeleine and the other civilians alive.
Another important figure is Samantha Brown, known as Doc (Dichen Lachman), a high-profile prisoner being transported through the crisis. Her presence complicates the hostage situation and makes her an important ally for Eric. The distributor’s original premise also emphasizes that the group’s leader orders hostage deaths, raising the stakes beyond a simple escape attempt.

Who directed and wrote the film?
Aftermath was directed by Patrick Lussier from a screenplay by Nathan Graham Davis. The film was produced by Voltage Pictures, with production credits including Brian Pitt, Lucas Jarach, and Tim Sullivan. Vertical handled U.S. distribution.
Principal photography took place in Boston, and the Tobin Bridge setting is more than a generic backdrop: the film’s central action is built around the physical restrictions of a major bridge, including blocked routes, trapped traffic, and the difficulty of protecting civilians in a confined but exposed location.

Where to watch Aftermath starring Dylan Sprouse
For U.S. viewers, Netflix’s official editorial page says the film is available to stream. Availability can change by country, subscription plan, and date, so check the live Netflix title page before assuming it is included in your account.
The film is also listed as a digital rental or purchase through Amazon Video. If you choose to watch Aftermath (2024) on Amazon Video, verify the listing before paying: the correct version should identify Dylan Sprouse, Mason Gooding, Dichen Lachman, Patrick Lussier, or the Tobin Bridge hostage premise. This identity check matters because generic searches for Aftermath can surface the unrelated Fruzsina Nagy science-fiction film.
Current U.S. listings also identify digital availability through the Apple TV Store and Fandango at Home. Rental prices, purchase prices, subtitle and audio options, and geographic availability are subject to change. No verified U.S. DVD, Blu-ray, or 4K edition was established for this exact Dylan Sprouse film, so a physical-media listing should not be treated as confirmation merely because it has the same title and year.
Release date and runtime
Aftermath had a limited U.S. theatrical release on November 1, 2024. The same date is listed for its U.S. streaming release in distributor and film-database records.

Runtime information varies slightly by platform. Netflix and Apple list approximately 1 hour 35 minutes, Rotten Tomatoes lists 1 hour 37 minutes, and Blu-ray.com lists 96 minutes. The safest general description is therefore approximately 95–97 minutes. The discrepancy appears to be a metadata or version difference rather than evidence of two different Dylan Sprouse films, since the cast, director, and Tobin Bridge premise match.

Is Aftermath worth watching?
The film is most clearly aimed at viewers who enjoy compact hostage thrillers, bridge sieges, military-action stories, and plots in which one capable protagonist tries to protect a family member in an enclosed location. Its strongest conceptual elements are the physical pressure of the bridge setting and the combination of an immediate rescue mission with Eric’s unresolved military trauma.
The available reception is notably weak, although the sample is small. Rotten Tomatoes reports a 17% Tomatometer score from two critics, which should not be presented as a definitive broad critical consensus because two reviews are an unusually limited sample. The audience listing contains more than 250 ratings and displays mixed reactions, with recurring complaints about the screenplay, visual effects, predictability, and casting. Some audience comments are more positive about Sprouse and Lachman.
In practical terms, expectations matter. Someone looking for a tightly written, realistic hostage drama may find the film’s B-movie construction limiting. Someone looking for a short, straightforward action thriller with a single-location premise may find the setup more appealing. IMDb’s user score has been listed around 5.2/10, but that number is platform-specific and can change over time.
Does Aftermath have a sequel?
No sequel is established by the supplied production and release information. The film should be treated as a standalone 2024 action thriller unless a later official announcement confirms otherwise.
