Tekashi 6ix9ine’s documented controversies include a New York guilty plea, a federal racketeering and firearms prosecution, arrests in the Dominican Republic, and U.S. supervised-release proceedings. The legal status of each event matters: an arrest or charge is not proof of guilt, and the Dominican cases’ eventual outcomes are not established here.
2015–2018: New York child-sex-performance case
The FADER’s retrospective timeline reports that Hernandez pleaded guilty in a 2015 New York case involving the use of a child in a sexual performance. The FADER says that in October 2018 a judge sentenced him to four years of probation and 1,000 hours of community service. Because this account is based on a secondary chronology rather than an underlying court record, those details are attributed to The FADER.
2018: Kidnapping and federal prosecution
July 22: Hernandez is kidnapped
In its 2020 sentencing announcement for Anthony Ellison, the U.S. Department of Justice said Ellison participated in the July 22, 2018 kidnapping of Hernandez and other racketeering-related offenses. The account documents violence against Hernandez within the broader federal case; Ellison’s prosecution and sentence are separate from Hernandez’s.
November: Federal racketeering and firearms charges
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York announced that Hernandez and five others were charged in a federal racketeering and firearms case tied to the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods. The announcement described prosecutors’ allegations, not findings of guilt. The charging announcement should not be confused with later pleas or outcomes in the case.

2023: Florida gym assault and Dominican arrest
March: Assault at a Florida gym
The Associated Press reported that several people assaulted Hernandez at a Florida gym in March 2023. That incident is separate from the criminal allegations against him and does not determine their merits.
October: Arrest in the Dominican Republic
The Dominican National Police announced that Hernandez was arrested in Sánchez, Samaná, under a warrant in a case involving allegations that he assaulted music producers. The police announcement establishes an arrest and allegations, not guilt or a final case disposition.

January 2024: Dominican domestic-violence case
The Associated Press reported that Dominican authorities arrested Hernandez on domestic-violence charges concerning an alleged assault on his girlfriend, Dominican rapper Yailin la Más Viral. On January 25, a judge ordered his conditional release while the investigation continued. The conditions included a $510 deposit, government counseling, periodic reporting, and mutual protection orders.
At the hearing, the prosecutor said victims sometimes recant; Hernandez’s attorney alleged that prosecutors fabricated evidence. These were opposing claims by the parties, not findings by the judge. The AP report describes the case’s status at that hearing and does not establish its eventual outcome.

October 2024–2025: U.S. supervised-release proceedings
October 2024: Detained over alleged violations
The Associated Press reported that a federal judge detained Hernandez over alleged supervised-release violations, including failed drug tests and travel without required permission. His lawyers disputed the treatment of him in the Dominican Republic. The detention hearing concerned alleged violations; it should not be treated as a finding on unrelated allegations.
2025: Admission to drug possession
The AP later reported that Hernandez admitted violating supervised release by possessing drugs. That admission concerns the release violation described in the report; it does not resolve the separate Dominican cases.
